Many of you applied for the Sustain protein bar logs and after tough decisions and cuts, 20 of you were selected. Now, an added bonus.

Designer Nutrition by Designer Supplements is proud to bring you SUSTAIN BAR - Peanut Butter Fudge. A great tasting protein bar that is a perfect snack when you are on the go and in need convenient protein. Each bar is only 300 calories, and contains 20 grams of high quality protein. It is sweetend with pure honey, and there is no added sugar, no preservatives and no articifial flavors. Additionally, backed by Designer Supplements high standard of product testing and formulation, there is no doubt that SUSTAIN BAR will meet your nutritional needs.

Here at bodybuilding.com and at a number of other sites on the net, DS/DN recently accepted testers to complete a high quality review of Sustain protein. Now, we're offering those testers the opportunity to test SUSTAIN BAR as well with the same 3 requirements.

1) Honesty. Like it, love it, hate it, or think it's mediocre, tell us the truth.

2) Quality. Having been burned with some downright AWFUL logs over the last few months, what we want here is a thorough analysis of the taste, texture, mixability, and formula. Mix it in what you like, eat it how you like, just make sure the review says what you did. Make a thread and field any questions. That is all.

3) Cross-post. For those of you who post on a number of sites, please post your review on all sites. You can copy/paste it if you like, no problem at all. Preference for logs WILL be given to persons capable and willing to post elsewhere.

Reviews MUST be posted in a SEPERATE thread from your Sustain protein review. That's it.

Macros for the bar are as follows: 300kcals, 20g pro, 35g carbs, 9g fat.

Allergy Warning: This product contains peanuts, and may contain traces of other nuts. Do NOT consume if you have a nut allergy of any kind.

Here on bb.com the 20 (TWENTY) selected SUSTAIN testers receive first dibs. As some of these users may be on low-calorie/low-carb diets, it is their choice if they should choose to defer the bar.

ADDITIONALLY, another FOUR applicants will be selected to receive 2 (TWO) SUSTAIN BARS and any bars declined by the protein testers will be sent to other qualified testers. A TOTAL of 28 bars will be sent out, so please apply

Once again, the chosen testers for Sustain protein are:

Should I put in my full stats to apply to this properly or say that I am interested? I doubt my height/weight/training/etc has much to do with assessing a protein bar (HIGH expectations by the way! :D )

Age: 16,7 months

Sex: male

Height: 5.8 foot

Weight: 182 pounds

Bodytype: endo-mesomorph

Country: South Africa

Training experience (as much detail as possible.. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF ! ! WHY should we choose you ! !): Started to become interested in High school in fitness and muscle because i started to do rugby. This had me getting stronger and fitter than i had ever been in my life. in previous years i had been a overweight and selfish depressed guy. This new leaf i turned over from high school through to now has changed me. i started training with proper knowledge at around 15 when i joined this forum learning much about how to improve my body.
i have gained at least 22 pounds in a year or so but through this weight change barrier i have changed my physical characteristics and aesthetics a lot.
however i have in theory gained a lot more but cut back so that i can cut down on the fat then grow more muscle then cut down a bit then bulk more, good progress
i can bulk and gain very easily. i have reached my goals very easily...
( in less than three months i gained over 12 pounds and my waist decreased in size. ) how is that for change!

i train hard and heavy as much as i can, i believe in powerbuilding to grow.

have won the topic of the weeks on bb.com ( in the december time which was mostly about motivation )

Current Training Schedule / Protocol (as much detail as possible):

currently i am doing this:

Arms biceps then triceps
Back deadlifts/bb rows/ pull ups/lat pulldowns etc
Chest flat/incline bench change with db pressing
Rest
Legs squats/leg extensions/calve work
Traps/shoulders heavy shrugging and arnold pressing hard
rest

i have also been doing an average of 30-60 minutes of cardio to burn fat as im currently cutting down to retain my health as my latest bulk left me unfit...

Cardio Schedule/Protocol (as much detail as possible):

nearly everyday this week for 30-60 minutes of moderate intensity ( 70% heart rate 143bpm ) on recumbent bike

Current supplements (exact brand/product name):

Universal animal pak
Optimum fish oil
Scivation Xtend
Universal EAA Stack
Animal Nitro G
( the above amino acids i change around to suit taste. )
Bio-Gen Nitro-gain 42/19 ( local protein brand )

Current Diet and macros (as much detail as possible):

i have not focused on macros.
but my diet for this cut specifically is clean
-chicken
-lean beef and cuts
-water
-meat
-meat
-and more meats
-tuna as well
-water

Current Daily water intake:

5 litres which is around nearly two gallons

Short Term Goal:

cut down to see my abdominals and get waist ( i know no spot reduction ) to around 32 inches ( healthy around there or little fat and remember fat around waist is very dangerous potentially), or at least get more vascularity overall and definition.
get fitter through cardio

Long Term Goal:

compete or make a career out of health and bodybuilding.

ANY and ALL Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs:

N/A

Supplement history (as much detail as possible):

All those listed above
-Primaforce Thermal rage ( awesome )
-Shock therapy by Universal ( awesome strength gains )

Id love to give this a shot. i normally do reviews of products under my own terms. meaning i purchase and then tell about it. Im not currently tresting 5 other products at once like most. so if I get selected i wont have anything to compete with as far as aother supps being used

That is the way we here at RM Labs perform our testing, although we do like free stuff too!

I've done numberous reviews on supplements with taste-factors. I've also bought and tasted majority of the protein bars/MRPs/cookies available. I would be up to review this bar, and compare it to everything else thats out there.

The ratios were designed to be a balance of quality ingredients that tasted good, had an appealing texture, etc. If we wanted more protein, it would have just been a bigger bar. Eat two. ;)

No, I ignore you because I don't like you. Haven't we already visited this topic?

The macros are set out as an MRP style bar, NOT as a "pure protein" or low carb bar. In essence, if following a diabetic exchange style diet, 1 'carb' is 15g of carb and 1 'protein' is 7g of protein while 1 'fat' is 5g of fat. Using those macros, this bar has a nice 3/3/2 ratio and fits the macro profile of MOST people wanting a high quality between meal snack.

Agreed. It also keeps blood sugars stable for longer periods of time, and when using low/mod GI NATURAL carbs prevents excessive insulin highs and lows.

By avoiding malto or hydrosylated-proteins in this bar, we've attempted to create a true "MRP" style bar with all natural ingredients. For those desiring MORE of a given macro, it's only 300 calories so you could always eat some whey or an apple or some almonds with it to get those extra cals.

I'd definitely be interested. I recently picked up some VPX bars and I think it would a really good comparison between the two. I will review it as a stand alone as well as against VPX.

Smartass?? No its called humor, cuz i know ur good at answering everyone's questions yet u chose to ignore mine. It was a simple question and i thought a good one. With most bars containing 30grams of P i was curious as to why u guys chose 20, and with as innovative as DS is in this industry i knew there had to be a good reason as to why. So sorry if asking a question bugs u that much. But if u had a question pertaining to SNS i wouldn't be ignoring you whatsoever. You can hate me all u want for whatever reason but i think that this type of behavior is uncalled for especially when coming from two reps. I think its time to squash what u have against me cuz i have nothing against you. BTW i will stop posting in this thread. My intent was to ask a question and not to hijack it.

To be honest with ya I think 20 grams of protein is perfect, if u want more protein with a meal add a 1/2 scoop of protein or 1/2 cup cottage cheese or milk , this would make a great quick and easy meal actually in the middle of the morning or afternoon. Also 20 grams is great compare it to other bars with 20 grams of protein and they have **** in them you cannot even pronounce. This bar will be good and clean just like VPX bars
