What would you say is the best amount of calories and carbs to cut out when "cutting" e.g. your daily caloric intake is roughly 3100 so what is the best amount to take off 500 calories and what would your carb intake be under 100 or under 50 ?

that depends. if your caloric intake is roughly 3100 and you take off 500, then you need 2600 calories a day. low carb intake should be calculated by percent.

generally, 25-30% is considered low carb, 30-50% is considered moderate carb, and 50+ is considered high carb. anything under 25 i believe is used mostly for ketogenic diets.

i'm currently also doing low carb with a high carb refeed every 3rd or 4th day. i would say get about 25% of your calories from carbs on low carb days, and about 45% from protein, and 30% from fat. and every 3rd/4th day, bump it up to about 20% fat, 50% carb, 30% protein.

if you go on low carb, but dont throw in high carb days, eventually your bodys metabolism will start to slow down, so consider carb cycling.
