Hey guys, Well Ive been bulking the last couple of weeks, and was wondering if I might be getting too many calories in. I can see a little bit of extra fat making itself around my abdomen, Im losing my abs pretty fast. Im 5'9" 165lbs currently. Im averaging 3000 calories a day, with a 40/40/20 split usually, +/- a few percentages.

If you do the math, thats averages to 300 g of protein and carbs, and 66 grams fat. Is this too much for someone my size? All the forums I visit stress diet and eating, am I overdoing it? All these cals are clean, unprocessed foods. No bread, no milk even. The protein is coming from foods mostly, I have only 2 whey shakes now, 1 scoop in the morning and two PWO. Any advise here???

you are going to gain fat while bulking. there is almost no way around it, if there were, people would not have to cut after a bulk.

3000 clean calories a day is not excessive. keep doing what you are doing, so long as you are getting gains.

yeah, it sucks, but don't worry about it, they'll come out again once you finish your bulk and start cutting.

If Im shooting for 3000 cals and a 40/40/20 split...

3000 calories x .40 = 1200 cals / 4 cals = 300 grams protein
3000 calories x .40 = 1200 cals / 4 cals = 300 grams carbs
3000 calories x .20 = 600 cals / 9 cals = 66.67 grams fat

I feel your pain.. I'm eating about 3500 calories a day and seem to get fatter everyday lol. The thing is.. football practice is coming up and I'm confident I will burn alot of it off at practice. Do a little HIIT during your bulk if you want.. it won't hurt your gains and it may prevent fat gain. Maybe try some non stimulant supps like a sesamin and cla stack.
