Hi,
I am 5'9 and my weight is 200, i am trying to determine how many calories i need to eat in order to lose fat, I am going to the gym 4 days a week, 3 of those days i do weight training and after i do 20 min cardio, unless is a leg day, i usually cant do anything after my work out...anyway, I was doing the lbs x 12 and the is pretty high...2400 does that sound right, i think the reason why i have not been losing weight is because i am not eating enough but now this sounds high.. please let me know...

thanks

Use your goal weight instead of your actual weight.. but don't go below ~1800 cals..

Ok, so i use my goal weight times 12 or 15, what is the difference?

Use your goal weight X12.. but don't set your goal weight too low!
I would recommend starting with 150X12=1800 as your baseline weightloss cals, and then having 1 day a week of 150X15.

Just for a reference, I'm 115lbs and my base burn rate is about 1850. With my activity level though, my maintenance calorie intake is 2400 on average.
