I'm new to the world of body building... In October I am doing a competition (I have a trainer helping me with diets and workouts) but currently, I am on birth control. Do I need to come off of it to reach the necessary body fat? For the past month I have been stuck at the same weight and same body % fat.

Any suggestions will help.. thanks!

I am on birth control, and after the initial water weight gain, I actually lost weight and I am at around 9-10% body fat now. Trying to bulk actually. What kind are you on? how long have you been on it?

I am on Desogen. I'm trying to get down to about 10%. What could I do to help me get there?

(I see that you're a music teacher.. I'm going to be a teacher too!)

Good luck! It's a great career! What does your diet and training look like? That's a big part of it. What are your stats? Height? Weight? Are you looking to compete?

...do you really think you are at 9-10% BF? How did you measure that?

Yea I'm competing in October. I'm 5'7'' and 125 pounds and at 13% BF. I do carb cycling; 3 times a week I have 25 grams of carbs in the AM, 2 times a week I have 50 grams of carbs in the AM, and 2 times a week I have 75 grams of carbs. 2 days of the weeks are upper body, and the other 2 days are lower body lifting. And I do cardio according to how much carbs I've had that day. (so like, on 25g of carbs, I'll do 30 min cario.. it varies from 30 min to 50 min) Thanks for your help. :)

I'm not trying to be annoying, so you don't need to get an attitude with the "thanks for the help" comment. I'm just wondering how you measure your body fat, not how you achieved it.

That was a different person, Psycho.

Psycho, I don't know if you're talking to me or twin. about how we know our bodyfat.

I wasn't having an attitude when I said thanks for the help. I was sincerely thanking twin. for taking her time to answer my question.

I'm sorry about that. For some reason, I got the two of you confused.

I have stayed on birth control even though some women tell me to dump it- I dont have sex - (with a partner anyway!! ) LOL-- but stay on the pill to regulate myself as I was on depo for over 10 years and havnt had a period since my youngest was born and hes 16. They thought the pill might bring back my periods- they havnt-- but I stay on them-- I dont have any weight gain- no water retention- im at 15.24% bf right now- shooting for around 13 before I start building again- I really dont think that low dose stuff makes much of a diff.
