She's 45, 5'6-5'7 and 155lbs. What would you girls recommend? She doesnt like to workout at the gym but we have a weight bench here. I told her she needs to change her diet. What kindof diet would you all recommend for her to lose weight? Thanks for any advice.

She should probably start off gradually to make lifestyle changes - need to get in order:
* Diet
* Physical activity

In terms of diet, find out what she eats on a regular basis - we want to make gradual changes here - start by buying healthy foods, you know the drill - fresh fruit and veggies, lean protein, healthy fats, complex carbs.

Rid the pantry of biscuits and junk etc, try to cook and prepare foods with little oil, eat when hungry, keep portion sizes in check, drink a lot of water.

See how she goes with these, as far as ratios go, worry about that later. Just got to get the foundations right first up.

In terms of exercise - What kind of activity does she do now? She does not sound overweight at that height and weight?! Obviously it will be good to get in some activity for health benefits, so if she is new to exercising, try to get her into more daily activities - power walking/light jogging. In terms of weights - she needs to perform exercises with correct form, so it is crucial she learns these. Also start her off with very light weights and do full body compound exercises like squats and chest presses.

Good luck! :)
