Honestly bro it depends what kind of diet your on. The advice I give though is to not buy the caplets. Its much cheaper to buy it in liquid form. It doesn't taste all that great, but it's not bad if you pour it on top of your tuna. Personally, I just take it by the teaspoon.

So what are you doing for your diet?

For general health, 1000mg EPA+DHA daily is a good number to shoot for.

So @ (155mg + 120mg = 275mg) , 3 - 4 should be plenty.

So I think i'm confused about the difference between omega-3 and omega-6, and the difference between monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats.

Am I right in saying that omega-3s and omega-6s are different types of polyunsaturated fats? And if so, what type are fish oil? And will that does of 3-4 caps a day be enough to cover my daily needs of polyunsaturated fat? If not, where else should I get it from? I refuse to take flax oil, that **** is sick.

There was an experiment done of a guy who took i dont want to get this wrong, i belive 3000 mg ? And saw a noticably amount of fat loss.

2 a day. Morning and night. I don't like to take too many supps. Eat lots of nuts, peanut butter and healthy fats instead.

How do you guys keep your ratio of fat even? I know that it is supposed to be about 30/30/40 between sat/poly/mono. Where do you get extra amounts of poly fats when you need them? Getting monos are easy.

I take 8 a day which = 2g of DHA+EPA with my postworkout shake.

Here's an idea. Eat fish.

Most EPA/DHA pills are derived from fish LIVERS and skins, which may contain high levels of trace heavy metals unless they are removed with additional processing.

Some studies have shown that EPA/DHA overdose can interfere with blood clotting. Not a fan of supplemental fish oil. Especially since it's so freaking pricey in comparison to fish. What does a can of sardines cost - $1?

I personally wouldn't take the fish oil around training... Fish oil is mother nature's aspirin... it suppresses macrophage activity and reduces inflammatory genes, suppresses prostaglandin production, inhibits COX-2 enzymes, and suppresses other inflammatory pathways like TNF and IL-6... and all of those are closely tied to muscle regeneration and growth - especially in the period following intense training.
