I've heard of stuff like cayenne pepper, cinnamon and green tea increasing metabolism. Does anyone have links to scientific studies with estimates as to how much of an increase they give (not just random little dieting sites like this http://1-800-weight-loss.com/weight-loss/Increasing_Your_Metabolism_To_.html)

That one claims a teaspoon of mustard increases metabolism 25% for three hours

Also, I use E/C stacks and I'd like an idea of how much of an increase it gives. Same with guggel stims like Lipo 6. They all increase metabolism but I'd like some numbers.

Thanks for any help.

You might try pubmed, I know green tea is something like 3%. The thing with the E/C stack is that it works mainly (but not only) through the anerexic effect (makes you less hungry)

E/C Stack is somewhat dangerouse. My friend took it, 2 weeks later, was diagnosed by his doctor with a Mild case of asthma

The two aren't related.

Ephedrine and ephedrine-like chemicals are used to treat asthma. Ephedrine is a broncho-dilator as well.

Have a look at this page for a case study on the metabolism efects of green tea: http://www.reflex-nutrition.com/sports_nutrition/fat_loss/document_29_3.php

Its quite an impressive amount if true,

Ephedrine is used as a treatment for asthma. Ephedrine does not cause asthma. The only people who shouldn't take it are people who will abuse it, those with heart/cardiac problems, and people who won't drink enough water while taking it.

Ephedra is something in the range of 1-3% increase in your metabolism.
