I was reading this research article about carb utilization http://www.extension.iastate.edu/nutrition/sport/carbohydrate.html and how long it actually takes for ingested complex carbs to reach glycogen stores in addition to protein with these meals slowing this process further. My question from this article is, wouldn't it be more efficient to eat higher carbs on off days if you want better performance in the gym than eating higher carbs on weight training days? Wouldn't the time on off days allow for more glycogen storage than high carbs on the actual day of weight training? Wouldn't it be beneficial to the workout to have the simple carbs, glucose, etc.

I know that issues of body composition would probably be issues to address regarding eating a high amount of carbs on off days.

Does anyone have any facts or opinions on this.
