We need 6 testers for Omega Sports' new thermogenic, BURN3D. Thanks to all who suggested names for the new product in this thread (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=712947&page=3).

However, BURN3D was suggested by someone over on AM.com on Feb 23rd while it was suggested here on the 24th. Therefore, the prize will go to the member over at AM who made the suggestion first.

Now to the testing, you should know the drill by now, but let's make it perfectly clear just to be safe:

Must be 18 or older
Must not have any medical conditions or using any prescription drugs
Must live in the United States
Must be on a cutting diet or calorie deficit
Must be able to start logs immediately upon receiving the product and update them at least three days per week
Must not be testing or using any other supplements that would otherwise skew the results of this trial
Cannot be allergic to sulfur based compounds
Must be able to compare it to other TTA based products such as Red Acid, Melting Point or Lipid FX
Must detail your diet and cardio program to help assess supplement's effectiveness

And here is a list of things you must include in your logs:

Starting and ending body weight
Starting and ending body fat percentages

I am interested but will be starting a new stack next week which includes a fat loss product. Can you tell us a little more about INCINERATE (what's in it, what type of fat burner - beyond a pure thermo - it is, and so on) so I can determine if it has a place in my stack?

Also, when will you be picking your loggers, and when should they start by?

Thanks... looking forward to possibly contributing to this one.

Are you currently being treated for any known medical conditions?
No, sir.

Current Diet & Macros (please be detailed)
Bulking on XF - 4000 calories a day on workout days, 3500ish on off days
I shoot for a 40/30/30 ratio of CHO/PRO/FAT by kcal
At 6 meals a day, it breaks down to about 650 kcal per meal
265 kcal CHO = 66g
200 kcal PRO = 50g
200 kcal FAT = 22g
Everything I eat is pretty clean, the only fast food I ever eat is Subway and that's very infrequent. I think the worst thing I eat is the occasional frozen pizza because of the bleached flour.

Current Daily Water Intake:
1.5-2 gallons usually (I drink a half gallon just in the hour I'm working out!)

Here is my current workout log here on bb.com where I have at least posted comments or reviewed Green Bulge, White Blood, Storm, Shock Therapy, GlycerGrow, and now X-Factor: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=628448

If it works or not, everyone that reads my log will know. I am very honest about everything. You can check out my other logs and see I am pretty detailed and truthful. If I were selected, I would do this log just like the others, I would be honest about all the pros and cons.

I hope I am selected! I could use the help in preparing for my meet!

Edit: I just learned Incinerate is taken. Good thing labels have yet to be printed! Stay tuned for a new name posted shortly!

The ingredients have been out for awhile...
Per serving:
800mg TTA
800mg Green Tea Supplying 400mg EGCG (no caffeine)
125mg Foskolii standardized to 25mg Forslean

I am not going to go into the write up now, but on paper at least, these three ingredients will stack marvelously together. The key is really the high dose EGCG and what it can do when you saturate yourself with it, so to speak.

The formula is not set in stone by any means....so we would really like to get some good feedback to gauge the overall effectiveness.

If you are willing to look. Ofcourse, why not?

Why should you be selected as a tester? (state your case)
Because I LOVE C*N*W. When I first saw "Beta Fat Inciterator" I was going crazy. What a flawless supplement. Provides me the TTA in equal amounts as in Melting Point, and contains Forslean and Green Tea, giving me the cAMPHIBOLIC effect, and its only 28 bucks. Too good to be true.
I was planning to cut on it for about 2 months, the first bottle at 3 servings daily to load TTA into my system and then drop to 2 servings a day to continue the effect, but 56 bucks is alot in additon to all my staples. I respond well to TTA(taken Melting Point at 6 caps) and Coleous Forskholli(bulk caps, switching to powder for cheaper prices) so your not gonna hear problems from me such as "oh, my stomach hurts," and no complaing about bloating either(dont really get it). I will stay dedicated and provide top news. I am wrapping up my bulk on about April 14, so I would really really really really really love to do this.
I will self-supply myself a second bottle if you pick me.

I still think its a much better alternative to the current TTA products on the market.
Here is the write up, though it is from the "beta" version.

Green Tea – antioxidant, increase in 24hour energy expenditure, inhibition of COMT leading to greater amounts of norepinephrine, all without any nervous system stimulation. Conclusion? Helps burn fat by shifting substrate utilization away from carbs and towards fat, and does not come with any resultant nervousness or jitters.

Forskolin – decreases blood pressure, increases heart function but mainly increases intracellular cAMP. Increased cAMP results in increased fatty acids liberated from adipocytes (fat cells) for use by the body. Works independently of beta receptors, therefore can exert its effect without any nervous system stimulation. Conclusion? Forskolin liberates fat from fat cells for use by the body

TTA – turns the liver into a fat burning machine. Drains FFA from the blood and burns them up in the mitochondria/peroxisomes of the liver. All without any nervous system stimulation and only for fats; TTA does not increase protein or carb utilization. Conclusion? TTA will help you use up more calories, all coming from fat sources.

There is the summary, here is the science.

Green Tea Extract – GTE is a powerful ingredient in any fat loss or general health supplement stack. GTE has been shown to be a powerful antioxidant but more importantly for our purposes, GTE has been shown to elevate resting metabolic rate (as determined by Energy Expenditure, or EE), and the increase is accompanied by a shift in substrate utilization from carbohydrates to fats with no change in protein degradation. This means that the metabolic increase due to GTE A) spares protein and B) burns more fat. How does GTE do this? It is thought that GTE inhibits an enzyme called catechol O-methyltransferase, or COMT. COMT is responsible for breaking down norepinephrine, a molecule that stimulates fat mobilization and thermogenesis (for reference, ephedrine works by increasing levels of circulating norepinephrine). Unlike ephedrine, the resultant increase in norepinephrine from GTE does not give you the jitters or make you anxious. Also, it has been shown that the primary active “catechins” in GTE, EGCG, has a “threshold” dosage before which it is eliminated quickly prior to reaching the blood. The threshold was shown to be around 375mg of EGCG ingested all at once. Prior to this dosage, only small amounts of EGCG make their way into the blood, but past this 375mg “saturation barrier” the majority of the catechins make it into the bloodstream. Thus, 400mg of EGCG at one dose has far greater effects than two 200mg doses spread apart. With this in mind, each dose of Omega Ripped contains 400mg of EGCG, enough to reach past the saturation point and significantly elevate blood levels of the active catechins.

Coleus Forskolii – The active ingredient in this Ayurvedic herb is forskolin. Forskolin acts similarly to beta agonists like ephedrine, but without the CNS effects associated with them. This is because forskolin is able to exert its effects without beta receptor interaction. Forskolin activates an enzyme named adenylate cyclase, which in turn increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). cAMP is a messenger molecule that signals the body to mobilize fat from fat cells. This is due to cAMP activating cAMP-dependant protein kinase, which activates hormone sensitive lipase (HSL). HSL is responsible for signaling fat cells to release free fatty acids (FFA) into the bloodstream for use as energy. Thus, by increasing cAMP, fat is mobilized from fat cells for use as energy. As an aside, forskolin is also known to reduce blood pressure, increase healthy heart function, increase NO and act as an antihistamine. While releasing FFA into the blood might seem like you can start winning the battle of the bulge, it is only half the equation; FFA, if not utilized as fuel (for instance, during exercise) are returned to fat cells and reincorporated. So the end point is that unless you use these extra FFA, they will just be redeposited. Which leads to the next ingredient in Omega Ripped…

TTA - Tetradecylthioacetic acid. Yes, I know its hard to say, but it is of my opinion that any non-stimulant fat burner needs to incorporate this new and intriguing compound. TTA is a fatty acid with a sulfur atom substituted at the 3rd position in place of a carbon (also known as a 3-thia fatty acid). What this does is prevent the TTA molecule from being oxidized (or burnt up) by the body for fuel. TTA is a potent activator of a set of nuclear sub-receptors dubbed the PPARs. PPARalpha (PPARa) is responsible for fat mobilization and burning, PPARdelta (PPARd) is somewhat greyer area, as it is not too well understood, and PPARgamma (PPARg) is responsible for fat storage. TTA is a very strong activator of PPARa, leading to a host of fat burning changes. By activating PPARa (which stands for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor), structural changes take place in the mitochondria of the body, causing them to enlarge and proliferate. The same happens with peroxisomes, which are also responsible for oxidation of fats. What does this all mean? The liver becomes a fat burning machine, draining fatty acids from the blood and burning them up in the many new mitochondria and peroxisomes. TTA has shown resultant dramatic decreases in blood FFA concentrations, and has been shown to be cardioprotective by changing cholesterol profiles from negative to beneficial.

Clearly, these ingredients compliment each other. TTA leads to drainage of FFA from the blood, and forskolin increases FFA release, meaning that they should work in synergy and lead to even greater fat loss than the two alone (and when combined with exercise and a caloric deficit, leading to total fat destruction). And with these two chugging away, GTE shifts the body over from carb utilization to fat utilization in its daily metabolism. All of this without any CNS stimulation that you can feel or that will keep you up at night.
Have fun reading :)

Well I did not quite reach my goal with Red Acid/5-Tetra. As I am lowering calories and was planning on getting a non-stim supp. to help out. I was going to start a lean bulk but decided to stay with the cut and get ready for the summer. I think I should be selected because I will leave very unbias feedback, and give a detailed log, so others can see how the product works. Hopefully show them that Omega is coming out with another solid product and hopefully reaching my goals. I must say that my log is not done yet but will be done on Saturday, and am taking part in a mini review for DS Resist. That should start up this weekend I believe. After that I am free, and will be able to give Omega my 100% effort. I would like to thank Omega just for the opportunity to apply.

Age: 24

Sex - M

Height - 5' 10''

Weight - ~188lbs (give or take a few)

Body type - Not sure. I certainly have small bone structure, but I gain fat quite easily while muscle gains are pretty slow. I think that this was because I was pretty overweight as a kid, and had to lose all the excess weight (as you know, we never really lose the fat cells--they just deflate, so to speak). I'm going to have to go with mesomorph, if forced to classify.

Training Experience (please be detailed) - I've been training consistently for ~8 years. I started out as a distance runner and football player in high school, and slowly progressed to become more interested in powerlifting/bodybuilding throughout college and into medical school. I've spent the past year and a half focusing on power movements and increasing strength, but in the process have gained more bodyfat than I would like.

Current Training Schedule / Protocol (please be detailed):

Monday - Cardio (~2 hrs of intramural floor hockey)
Tues - Back/Abs and cardio (~30 mins low-moderate intensity on a bike)
Weds - Chest
Thurs - Legs/Abs (~30-40 mins low-moderate intensity on a bike)
Fri - off (maybe cardio if i feel like it)
Sat - Shoulders/Arms (~30-35 mins low-moderate intensity on a bike)
Sun - Deadlifts/Goodmornings (~30-35 mins low-moderate intensity on a bike)

My routine is still focused around compound heavy movements to try to maintain strength. So far, I've been pretty successful in keeping the strength up while dropping bodyfat. I gradually lowered calories to avoid an immediate strength loss (which I think was a problem for me in the past). I seem to be able to maintain muscle mass much more easily if I don't drastically cut cals all at once. I've also focused more on moderate intesity cardio, rather than interval training, as I seem to burn fat without burning muscle this way. I try to get at least 5 days of cardio in per week.

Cardio Schedule/Protocol - included above.

Current Supplements (please list all product names):

Scivation Sesamin @ 3 caps/day
Generic Fish oil caps @ 6 grams/day
Now Adam multivitamin
Omega Sports Thunder @ 8caps/day
Ergopharm AMP (occasionally 2 caps as a pre-workout boost)
Optimum Whey Protein

Comparable Supplement/Product History (please be detailed):
Designer Supplements - Melting Point
USPLabs cAMPHIBOLIC
Scivation Lean Green

Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs - NONE

Are you currently being treated for any known medical conditions? (please be detailed) - NO

Current Diet & Macros (please be detailed) -

Carbs/Protein/Fat %
35/35/30 (Carbs taken in the morning/afternoon/preworkout only)

Typical meal components:
Carbs - Oats, Brown Rice, Broccoli, Celery, Carrots, Snow Peas, Zucchini, Spinach, Milk/Yogurt

Protein- Eggs, Fat-Free yogurt/Skim milk, Chicken breast, Tuna/Salmon, 95% lean ground beef, lean steak, 99% lean ham

Fats - Salmon, Fish oil, Almonds, Enova, Olive oil, Eggs, etc. (Depending on what I mix and match with from above).

Total calorie intake fluctuates between 1800Kcal/day - 2300Kcal/day. I find that I have better results if I fluctuate my caloric intake daily, but avg between 2000-2100Kcal per day throughout the week.

Current Daily Water Intake - about 2 gallons/day or more

Surely

Why should you be selected as a tester? (state your case):

I guess first of all, you can be assured that I'm not going to take the product and run, so to speak. You'll get an honest review of the product as well as my ability to compare with other products on the market, both current and old. I've tried quite a bit throughout the years. I also believe that I am above average in my knowledge of Exercise/nutrition/dietary supplements. I have both a BS in Exercise Science, a BS in Nutrition, and am currently in my first year of medical school. Also, while working on my undergraduate degrees, I spent 2 year working as a personal trainer.

This product truely does intrigue me in that I have had success with both melting point and cAMPHIBOLIC. I believe that your product is a perfect combination of the two. Honestly, if it wasn't for my lack of funds I would already have picked up one of the beta bottles that you had available on your site. I feel that this would be the perfect addition to my current summer cutting cycle.

I believe that my log would prove to be an asset to this board, and I hope to be chosen to give this exciting product a shot.

Been training on and off for about 6 years. Started in high school during a weight training class during my junior year of high school. Immediately loved the feeling and continued from there. Didn't really know what I was doing until spring of senior year during track (I threw discus) and the strength coach for throwers was actually very good and I began learning more about proper nutrition and continued on. When I got into college I continued to work out at the amazing UW gym started learning more about bodybuilding and did a small show at the end of freshman year for a sorority fundraiser. Looked like crap for that one and was disappointed with myself. Sophmore year of college rolls around and there is a different sorority that throws a larger competition which I decided I would do. Ended up placing second in that one and felt alot better about my body and ability to bulk and cut. After that I got burnt out and stopped for about 6months. Got a girlfriend that sucked the life outta me(among other things). after that six months I got motivated again and started to work out again. Worked out hard for about a year and the next summer before senior year, I broke my hand in a fist fight. Was out for six months. As soon as my hand recovered started back again and have been at it hardcore since then! No breaks or extended periods of time off. Throughout that time period i've played with my routine and tried doing two muscle groups a day or one a day and cardio immediately after weights. Tried about everythign possible. All worked to an extend but i've never stuck with the same routine for more than a couple months.

Based on recent research (thanks pu12 and NumberTwentyTwo for turning me on to this ;)) it appears L-Carnitine is repsonsible to transporting oxidized fatty acids to the mitochondria, and thus may be an excellent addition to this stack.

Here is an excellent article on the subject for those interested...

Oxidation of fatty acids occurs in the mitochondria. The transport of fatty acyl-CoA into the mitochondria is accomplished via an acyl-carnitine intermediate, which itself is generated by the action of carnitine acyltransferase I, an enzyme that resides in the outer mitochondrial membrane. The acyl-carnitine molecule then is transported into the mitochondria where carnitine acyltransferase II catalyzes the regeneration of the fatty acyl-CoA molecule....

Clinical Significance of Fatty Acids

The majority of clinical problems related to fatty acid metabolism are associated with processes of oxidation.
These disorders fall into four main groups:

1. Deficiencies in Carnitine: Deficiencies in carnitine lead to an inability to transport fatty acids into the mitochondria for oxidation. This can occur in newborns and particularly in pre-term infants. Carnitine deficiencies also are found in patients undergoing hemodialysis or exhibiting organic aciduria. Carnitine deficiencies may manifest systemic symptomology or may be limited to only muscles. Symptoms can range from mild occasional muscle cramping to severe weakness or even death. Treatment is by oral carnitine administration.

*Age – 18
*Gender – Male
*Height – 6’1”
*Weight – 196
*Body Type – Mesomorph
*Training Experience – I started seriously working out in the beginning of 9th grade, which would put it around 4 years. I’ve been extremely steady with my workouts, although I still have a hint Lyme Disease from a few years ago which I think hinders me to a certain extent. I started out with some horrible advice, and have since educated myself on what I should be doing. I like compound movements and lifting heavy, a quality, which presents itself in my current workout.

*Current Workout:
Monday
Barbell Bench Press 5x5
Military Press 5x5

Tuesday
Barbell Back Squats 5x5
Pendlay Rows 5x5
Barbell Bicep Curl – 5x5

Wednesday
Rest, typically I get bored with not working out at all, and find myself working on Planches, L-Sits, and doing all types of various abdominal workouts.

Thursday
Deadlifts – 5x5
Pendlay Rows – 5x5
Barbell Bicep Curls – 5x5

Friday
ATG Barbell Front Squats – 5x5
Barbell Bench Press – 5x5
Military Press – 5x5

Saturday and Sunday
Rest, as on Wednesday I usually work on planches, L-Sits, and doing various exercises targeting the abdominals.

Cardiovascular Work
On top of my workouts, I like to trick whenever I get the urge, which is basically just doing all types of flips, kicks, etc. I guess you could call it a combination of a Martial art and Gymnastics, if you’ve ever done it, it’s tiring. I absolutely hate running around in a big circle, so I go trail running every so often, and go swimming at the pond nearby.

Current Supplements
Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard

Comparable Supplement History
I’ve never taken a Thermogenic before.

Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs
Melatonin 1mg (My body doesn’t produce melatonin until late at night (4-5AM, thanks to Lyme Disease)

Are you currently being treated for any known medical conditions?
No

Current Diet & Macros
I try to stick firmly to having a 40/30/30 ratio of Carbohydrates/Protein/Fats. Typically I have 5000 Calories during the course of a day. I eat pretty clean, though I’m trying to incorporate more fruits/veggies into my diet. Daily protein intake I’d estimate to be around 200 grams.

Daily Water Intake
100 oz – 1 Gallon

Past Logs & Reviews
None to date.

Are you willing to post before & after pictures?
Absolutely

Why should you be selected as a tester?
I feel I’d make an good guinea pig because of my keen attention to all things having to do with my body. I’m constantly weighing myself, measuring with calipers, etc. I feel I’m a coherent writer, and could present my results in a well-thought out, sophisticated manner. According to those close to me I am a “brutally honest human being,” which I presume is good for a product review.

Hopefully I'll get selected, I'd like to try a thermogenic while I cut. If not, best of luck to your company. :)

So the name is BURN3D, I thought it was INCINERATE. No bottle yet, but I have a good feeling it will be here tomorrow. I really hope this product works well for me. I need to shed off approx 17lbs. I need to be down to at least 198lbs for my meet, prefer to be 195lbs. I have 28 days until weigh in. So thats like 0.607142857142857lbs I need to lose per day. Ok thats a bit much detail but I felt like looking smart tonight ok? geesh.

Just another point here: each user will receive 2 bottles. At 3 servings per day, 1 bottle will last 20 days. Some people may find they only can do 2 doses daily (many are overly sensatove to forskolii) while others may want to try 4 doses daily. So the second bottle is to bring you to a full 30 days to give everyone a fair shot.

matpal, I have some concerns with the TTA. I have heard it causes water retention, in males mostly. I am dieting down for my meet and need to lose the extra lbs, but wont the TTA make me hold water weight? If so, I will have to wait until after my meet to do the log. I cant take a chance of being placed in the 220lb class because I am a lb or 2 away from 198lbs, I would get beat down in that group. Let me know your thoughts.

Very true. I am 214'ish as of 8am this morning. I need to be 198lbs so approx 16 to 17lbs. I would rather come in at 195lbs just in case someone benches the same weight as I do, I think they go by weighin weight if that happens. I am on a very good cut diet designed by Chuck Rudolf, doing 30 to 45 min cardio 4 days a week, nothing hard just a brisk walk on the treadmill keeping my heart rate around 125 to 130 and I am drinking a truck load of water too. So I really feel I will make it, if not, I will still compete in the 220lb class, what the heck. Its a learning thing and for fun. Besides, I only trained my azz off for a "BENCH PRESS 300lbs CLUB" T-shirt. lol J/K

Ohhh, judging by your handle and the fear of water retention, I thought that you were preparing for a bodybuilding competition. I wouldn't worry so much about the water retention with TTA, as long as you discontinue use a few days prior to your competition to allow you to lose the excess water. I highly doubt that it will negetively effect your bodyweight that much. You may just look a little softer--which doesn't matter in a bench meet.

Just curious, what are you putting up on bench as of now? You've got to remember as well that if you go losing all that weight in such a short time your power on bench will surely struggle...

You've got a pretty lofty goal to lose 1/2lb per day for a month. I'm not trying to discourage or anything, as I hope that you can pull it off. I just don't think you're being very realistic.

Your quite right, it is a lofty goal. I have been on a cut diet and it is working nicely, I have dropped from 225 to 214 so far but my strength is doing ok. When i first started my routine my 1RM RAW was a touch n go 315lbs. As of this past Thursday I did 2 sets of 2 with 325lbs with a 3 second pause on each rep. According to the "numbers" my new 1RM should be 340lbs. I am very confident I could walk in the gym today, do a good warmup and stretch and be able to hit 330lbs to 335lbs with a brief pause. It is very surprising to me that I am eating approx 2600 cal workout days and 2300 off days and my strength is still with me, of course it would be allot better if I were eating more. I know it sounds like a crazy not gonna happen goal to hit 350 but thats just what it is, a goal. I will most likely open with 315lbs, then 335lbs (because I know I can hit those weights) then on my last attempt I will either go for the 350lbs, if i feel i can do it, or just go for 340lbs. I have 27 days left of quality food going in and butt busting weight training...all i can do now are these two and HOPE

well quiggs, you were right, my goal was a bit to much for me. my diet was solid for cutting but it distroyed my strength, i am struggling with 225 to 250 now. so i will go back to my original bulk diet that helped me add size and strength, take burn3d and see what happens. i will train for another bench meet down the road, i need time to increase me strength and size then slowly diet down, i went WAAAY to fast.
