Iv been trying to find the nutrtional info of kidney beans and i keep getting different answers from different site. They aren't even close to each other!

Type: Mature kidney beans raw, 1 cup:
Fitday: Protein: 41g
Carbs: 112
Fat: 1
Calories: 620

Peer Trainer: Protein: 13
Carbs: 40
Fat 1
Calories: 218

The calorie counter: Protein: 4.3
Carb: 6.7
fats: 7.7 ?!?!?

All I want is one clear, correct, answer! Can anyone help me?

Use the nutritional value on the side of the can.

The difference in values you posted might be due to how the beans are prepared. A cup of uncooked beans will be very different from a cup of cooked beans. Beans absorb a lot of water while cooking.

Generally speaking, kidney beans are a good source of fiber.

What above said, read the packaging. If you're cooking them yourself from dry, there should be nutritional info on the bag.

the first two are close. The last one has fat added.

I did see someone having a problem with this before. The carb/protein ratio was the same, but the amount (calories) per 100g varied by 30% or more (with minimal fat - just raw beans). Everything was just scaled.

EDIT: it could have been the cooking/soaking method, the stats may not have been for dry beans, don't exactly remember.
