You DO realize that the ancient greeks depicted in the various sculptures/paintings are not what they actually looked like. The general population didn't consist of 190-220lb 5% bf gladiators. They're depicted that way out of respect and honor, not because they actually looked that chissled.

Don't knock the Greeks, it's not our fault we all look so damn shredded in all our paintings/sculptures. (Yes full Greek heritage)

i iz a greek gawd from da mightie agez and if u iz askin wat we did for dat dere post workoutz it woz a strong comboz of de datez, and figz and dat dere dried meats for teh abzors and trapts, for xtra fat burnin potential , we did wat iz now known as teh intermittent fastin for dayz , but not on purpose cuz we woz hunter gatherers by nature and when we ate we ate like there wuz no tomorrow...cuz there really wos no tomorrow.

then tell me how could they possible know how a ripped 5% physique looked like?

I'm not saying everyone was chiseled I'm just saying some of them must have been otherwise they would have no idea how muscles looked like or how they would be placed on the body etc etc etc

think about the freshness and quality of nutrients they had... and the amount of activity they did.... they were probably burning 6-8kcals a day (the soldiers). Read gates of fire , it will give you an insight into the persians of the period and their activity and a slight insight into their diet. (based on historical research)
