Not a Pats fan but it would have been highway robbery had anyone else gotten it except maybe Moss

no surprise here. he was the clear winner, even above Randy Moss.

with him, this team doesnt even need a running back

you should have made the point to discuss any reason he didnt deserve it..

49 out of 50 votes go to brady... wow

they give it to quarterbacks too often imo, or running backs

who'd the 1 go to?

my only issue with this it that he has never had stats CLOSE to this until he got moss (who caughtt 22 of his td's or whatever) Which leads me to believe that the bigger factor of his unbelievable season is moss's talent rather than brady's... hence I think moss deserved it more than brady did.

And not only do Moss's stats add to brady's, but he is also respnsible for a lot of Brady's completions to other recievers because defenses are too worried about shutting him down and they're putting 3 or 4 guys on him almost every play. Any quarterback could do unreal in that situation.

I thought Moss deserved it, but you can't argue with a dude who posted the best season ever for a QB.

I think what it comes down to is who's more important for the Pats.. Brady or Moss.

kethnaab

that's why QBs so frequently get the MVP award. They are the hub of their team's offense.

why didn't moss put up any of these numbers before Brady then? Its stupid to say brady would be nothing without moss. it works both ways. people hate brady so much they can't even give him credit.

uh...? his entire career in Minnesota he put up unreal numbers. And as soon as culpeper lost him his career went down the pooper. Moss is the best player in the NFL (when he wants to be) And he is having fun in NE, which is why he is posting these numbers. I'm not saying Brady isn't a great game manager and player, but he could not put up Ridiculous MVP stats like this, without moss...

EDIT: Granted though, I think you're right that they both helped each others stats out... I just think Moss helped brady's more than brady helped Moss's

which still doesn't make Moss the most valuable player

I think Moss should have got it but this was very well deserved anyway. Congrats to him.

Take Moss out the picture, the pats probably don't go 16-0.

Take Brady out the picture, the pats probably don't make it to the playoffs.

Brady is more valuable to the team. Moss is more valuable to the records.

idk about the pats not getting to the playoffs without brady, they only needed what 9 wins to make it this year,,,,they do need moss to go undefeated

It's hard to say if the Pats would make it to the playoffs without Brady, without Moss however, I'm sure they could have

point taken......but moss is the X-factor. He made things easier for welker....brady...the pats defense. He had an effect on the whole team

haha, cmon man. you're a pats fan and you don't acknowledge Moss's past greatness?

I'll even give you the TDs because Brady is the best QB Moss ever had but everything else is just Moss being Moss.

Moss is a huge reason why that team went 16-0, but he can't do it w/o someone throwing him the ball.
Do I think they go 16-0 w/o Moss? No, probably not.
But when I look at that team and ask who is the one player that if you took away from that team they would be hurt? Tom Brady, just like Peyton Manning in Indie.
They would be Super Bowl contenders w/o Moss, as has been proven in the past, they don't do it w/o Brady.

except any of Oakland's QBs :D

i don't think it's just Moss being there.... this is the first year Brady has had real WRs to throw to. he has a completely new WR corps this year

He did. This was only his best season TD-wise.

Wes Welker?

:(

Without Moss on the team i doubt he'd have as many receptions as he did. This being because D's are going out of there way to double cover moss leaving welker in man coverage. Welker is good but i believe if you took moss out of the picture his numbers would have dropped significantly.

why didn't moss put up any of these numbers before Brady then?

catches/yards/TDs

69/1313/17
80/1413/11
77/1437/15
82/1233/10
106/1347/7
111/1632/17
98/1493/23

His seas with Brady was his 2nd best for yards, his 3rd for receptions and his best for TDs. Incidentally, it was also his 2nd best season for first downs.

So, in fact, he has put up similar (or better) numbers with 4 different starting QBs, including Tom Brady, Daunte Culpepper, Jeff George and Randall Cunningham, as well as 3 different backups with significant playing time, Brad Johnson, Todd Bouman and Gus Frerotte

No knock against Brady. He's one of the best ever and definitely one of the 2 best now.

But Moss is a purely sick freak.
