View Full Version : When to take BCAA's when cutting

Im going on a breif 3-4 week cut starting next week. Im just looking to drop 2-3% of my bodyfat before i continue my bulk. I plan on taking 25g bcaa on workout days and 15 on off days.

I plan on taking 10g pre/during workout, 5g with my post workout shake, and the other 10 will be sipped throughout the day.

On off days i will sip 15g throughout the day with water.

Thoughts on the timing and dosage? Would i benefit from more than 25g on workout days?

NO need to take it throughout the day.

Just take it pre/during your workouts. Thats it.

im taking 2 scoops of Xtend Pre-workout and another 2 scoops Pre-cardio, if im in fasted state, i take another 2 scoops POST Cardio and workout.

During workout is great. Depends on what else you are having post workout -- if it's whey or other MRP type concoction, then save your BCAAs for other times where you don't want/need the carbs along with it (such as fasted cardio or as a BCAA boost sometime during the day).

Many people swear by sipping on Xtend or wrAAth during the day as a way to get in extra protein or as a way to skew your daily macros, especially on a cut or a strict diet focused on the macros.

It can never hurt to sip on a wrAAth or Xtend drink as opposed to soda or coffee...

Take a minimum of 20 g & up to 40 g of BCAA's pre & post workout. (if you can afford it). If you take 25g on workout days take it after your workout (all 25g at once).
