View Full Version : Bulking combine carbs and Fats?

Well ive been stuck at around 182-185 for a few weeks now. And i have been thinking maybe i need to go back to eating carbs and fats together. John Berardi doesnt suggest this saying more fat will be likely stored. However i want to get thicker over winter should i convert back to the old peanut butter sandwhiches or stick with carbs and proteins/carbs and fats. I would appreciate a few opinions on this so im def. looking forward towards yours. What should i do?

With JB's suggestions you can still have some carbs and fats together. For example, if you are eating a P+C meal you can have some fats from the carbs source....like 1 cup of oats has 6g of fat. Or you could even have some flax seeds with a P+C meal as long as its not a lot of fat(like 15+ grams of fat from flax).

You can also have carbs with P+F meal, but the carbs should come from veggies mainly.

Having said this, you may already know thi though so what I wanna ask is how have your gains been thus fat.....hjave you been gaining muscle without gaining too much fat? If so, then I would say stick with JB's pln, but simply increase calories. The best place to start increasing calories are in your pre and post workout meals via more carbs.

I just keep my fat content in my meals a constant 15g per meal... and eat carbs in whatever meal i want. Its not that far off from his "10g" rule, and im getting balanced healthy meals all day long. Try one, try the other, see what works for you.
