View Full Version : fruit juice ok for preworkout?

I been drinking a whey shake and some oats about an hour before working out but ive had a lack of energy. What about drinks like mango juice or banana/pineapple juices?

if your feeling lethargic, maybe. The simple sugar burns up real fast in your sytem. Better to wait to after your workout to replace glycogen.

I'd definitely wait to drink that after workout... RIGHT after workout even. You want a slower working carb pre-workout not a simple carb. Drink it after workout and enjoy every last second of it's sweetness because it's about the only time that I personally would advocate juice in the diet. Man I miss juice....

Don't neglect pre-workout nutrition! You need protein and carbs pre-workout for the best results. Research has proved this more important to anabolism than what you have immediately post-workout. Both are important however.
