i've seen some recipes, but which one has the most calories and protein? also, when the recipe calls for whey, what kind of whey does it mean and where can i get it?

To your first question, there is no answer that can be defined. The amount of calories, and macronutrient breakdown is based on how MUCH you put in. The ingredients will determine the nutrient breakdown (such as protein, carbohydrates, fat - macronutrients).

Start simple:

whey powder
peanut butter

Later, add in ingredients that you like, such as fruit or oatmeal. For figuring out calories and macronutrients, it's so easy that it just might be adding.

When whey is being referred to, it means generally any type of whey protein powder (concentrate or isolate).

A few good brands:
Optimum Nutrition - well, it's popular if nothing else
Pro Rated - personal favorite
Dymatize - fairly popular, I thought the green apple was horrible though
