Ok this may seem like a mildly stupid question, but what are the macros/calories for 1 cup of yellow corn?

I only ask because nutritiondata.com claims its 660 calories. I crossreferenced that number with a couple other sites, one agreeing, one saying about 120 calories.

Anyone know?

Thanks

You have to look at the various entries:
http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20cx.html
http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c21Tj.html

Now let's analyze the entries:
http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20cx.html

This is most corn straight off the cob, hence "raw". So it's going to have all of the moisture remaining. Hence the reason there are only 130 calories per cup. The corn retains it's size/shape and what not.

Here's the second entry:
http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c21Tj.html

This is most likely corn that has been dried and ground, but still the whole grain. Hardly any moisture remains, so it is going to have more nutrients (and calories) while maintaining an equivalent volume.

One is also listed as a grain product and one as a vegetable product. The vegetable listing is what you would use if it's straight off the cob and has not undergone any major processing other than the kernels being sliced off.
