View Full Version : What is wrong with my diet?? Hit a plateau.

Hey guys
I'm currently 22, 5ft9, 165lbs in a cutting phase.
I'm trying to cut down but have hit a sort of plateu after losing 5 lbs in a month or so. I don't think i've made huge gains and lift heavy and think I do enough cardio during the week. (I box 3 times a week, do cardio for 20 minutes twice a week, and play competetive basketball once a week).

I feel like if there is any area that needs tweaking it is probabaly my diet.
Without going into specific macro ratios of the foods below, I get about 45% P, 35% C and 20% F. The foods below total to about 2200calories.

How does the nutrition plan look?
The only thing I don't want to change is breakfast. I need to eat a big, carb-rich breakfast.

Breakfast:
1 cup brown rice
1 raw whole egg
1 small can tuna
1 cup skim milk
1 cup green vegetables

Recess:
3 egg whites
1 Banana
1 Kiwifruit
1 small tub of low-fat yoghurt
1 cup skim milk
(put in a blender)

Lunch:
Decent sized patty of chicken breast grilled
Small fistful of lean veal grilled
1 Steamed sweet potato
2 slices toasted wheat bread with cottage cheese spread and tomatoes

After lunch:
Protein shake (low carb WPI) with banana
1 small can of tuna

Post workout:
Protein shake (low carb WPI) with banana
small scoop of BCAA's in a shot of orange juiced

Dinner:
fillet of grilled or pan-fried fish
Steamed vegetables
