View Full Version : Whey protein...should I worry?

Hi guys.

I will be buying some whey protein soon. It is my first time taking a supplement. I was wondering if I should have anything to worry about? I know that too much of anything is not good. I plan on taking 1 or maximum 2 shakes per day. Are there any health hazards I should be concerned about? I weigh about 150lbs so I am aiming for about 150-200 grams of protein per day. Your help is appreciated.

Well bro...if you are planning on bulking then take 150g of protein, if you are cutting take 225g of protein..

there are NO HEALTH risks or hazards, I mean HEY its protein!!

2 shakes would do the trick..one after you work out and one at night...

look into taking other supps if you are serious about bodybuilding..not saying roids..I'd stay away!

I think you can atleast take 3 shakes a day, that is what they say on the bucket of my Optimum Whey Protein. I take 3 on non lifting days and 4 on Lifting days, because after my wokout I take 2 at one time.

3 is good, but how many scoops of whey do you put?

i put 2 scoops of whey after workout and 1 scoop at night..along with an egg white for each scoop...i guess i dont need 4 shakes or 3, because i eat alot of high protein foods.

if he is 150lbs i doubt his body can process up to 225g of protein

Just make sure you drink a gallon of water a day.

he needs to take that much protein if he wishes to cut..

You know what? Years ago i thought protein shakes would get you fat! :o

Boy, was i ever wrong. The most important sup to have(shakes) when cutting. :)
