View Full Version : 3400 calories @ 170lbs

Hey guys, new guy here. I'm Steve. I decided to seriously get into bodybuilding last week. Next, I chose to set up my diet properly with a ratio of 50%C/25%P/25%F. I weigh 170lbs and "calculated" my needed daily caloric intake. At first it was around 3000 (for bulking). To my surprise, I was still hungry throughout the day. So now, I jumped the calories up to 3400/day. Still, I get hunger. I lift for 1 hour and do aerobic exercise for 45 mins, 6 days a week. I eat 5 meals a day, 3 hours in between, with 1 snack in between each meal. After just one week, I can bench press 3 more reps than my usual set. I'm definitely bulking, but is this normal to be consuming so many calories and still be hungry at 170lbs? I have a feeling that my natural bodyweight is around 180 to 190. Has this happened to any of you guys before?

I'm 140, don't do any cardio, and haven't been gaining while eating 3000. =[

yeah man i weigh the same as you and only workout 3 times a week (5x5 program) I eat 3,500 calories a day and always want to eat more. But I gain roughly a pound a week as of now.

That's about where I'm at and I play soccer (aerobic intense) about 3 times a week. I grow very slowly at around 3250-3400 so you're in the ballpark.

I'm half your size, almost literally, and grow at a perfect pace 3k, and im a couch potato. Of course, I'm always hungry because i have no self control/discipline.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna add an extra meal (starting @ 7a.m.) to get me around 4000 calories because I use to naturally weigh around 180 and I feel that is where I belong.
