I head to the gym right after work around 230-300 in the afternoon. My question is that I take most of my food prepared to work mon thru fri. sometimes my preworkout meal is actually food. i like to change things up once in a while. so could i make a preworkout shake in the morning and drink it about an 1 to 1 1/2 before before i workout. if so, could you guys give me some ideas on making a preworkout shake.

Put the powder, 100% whey works well, in the shaker in the morning but do not add the water until you are ready to drink it...

Try ground up oats. Just pulled rolled oats in a coffee grinder.
