Starting weight - 301 lbs. (before a big cheat weekend this weekend, so probably higher...) at 6'2" tall.

Not sure of bodyfat %, but it is HIGH.

I will win this contest because I am an animal. My goal is 260 pounds, or a little over 3 (1% body weight) pounds per week. I know I can do it if I keep my diet in check and get my butt to the gym.

Best of luck to all of you!

This is what I needed. You guys are gonna owe me reps!

Just making the deadline. I enjoyed my last plate of nachos tonight watching the incredibly bad calls in the Ravens v Bengals game. Todd Heap was robbed of a game-tying TD.

Anyway,

22 yo
72.5" height
195 lbs.
18.3% body fat (tape measure method, no calipers).

By 2008, I don't care about weight. Let's say around 180-185 though.
But I'm shooting for 12% body fat
I'll be using some whey protein powder and possibly an EC stack if I don't see real results within a month. I'll post bi-weekly on updates.

hey guys, i hope everyone has a good start, as for myself, i'm on fire!

I found that instead of hating cardio, i think of it as a challenge now. Always trying to beat my pervious time, when that gets old, i bet the previous distance, so on and so forth. Always change it up, keep it new, fresh, and most of all, don't let yourself burn out. We are doing this to improve health, physcial appearance, self-confidence, and a bunch of other things. Think about the benefit, the gold at the end of the rainbow, when our time for this challenge has ended. Stay strong, keep your eye on the goal, and most of all, go after what you want.

Kick butt guys, and best of luck to all...

P.S. If anyone "falls off the wagon", post something up, perhaps some motivational cheers from your partners can get you back on track!

derickonfire
09-12-2007, 07:03 PM
When I first started cardio or any other form of activity - it was insanely PAINful!

I had to motivate myself like the above.

Really though - I discovered I was just afraid of sweat.. really, I hated it for some reason. The summer, and the heat. I always felt dirty.. and I've been kind of OCD so sweat = really bad.

One day, I hung out doors and actually made myself sweat, and over time (few years) I've actually grown to like being hot and sweaty... I hate it when I need to look good (work / school) but otherwise, it's pretty nice.

I don't know - just random things I noticed.

Also, I've noticed now that I'm in pretty damn good shape (way good actually, probably better than anyone I know personally) I actually enjoy running and lifting. Running isn't as tedious now as it was years ago when I was 250lbs, and I can actually run a lot further at a much higher speed.. it's somewhat refreshing.

Especially with music - sometimes I'll be at a steady 7mph pace, and a certain song will come on and I will get so pumped and bump the speed up to 8 or 8.5mph.. the BURN really is amazing.

Same with weights.

-- I'm on 'something' right now.. sorry for my rambling. Good luck everyone! I know I won't 'win' this contest persey, but who cares - I am winning at life. Already, after these past 4 months, my confidence has SHOT THROUGH THE ROOF, and more and more girls are smiling and saying hi to ME now. It's amazing.

Amazing.. wow.

AlexMR

NIce first day guys!! I kinda had a cheat day today. LOL. But dont fool yourself, i'm here to win.

I've been considering adding AM cardio to my already heavy routine. I dont know if i should though, because i think this would be at the expense of very good gains i've been having. At the losing fat pace I've had in the past 12 weeks I would end this contest at 12ish % BF, but i understand it's going to get harder and harder. I assume the challenge. Tommorrow I'm oiut to the gym as soon as i wake up.

Again, GL everybody.

Everybody keep focused on you goals. Motivational phrase of the week "You can't fly a kite unless you go against the wind and have a weight to keep it from turning a somersault. The same with man. No man will succeed unless he is ready to face and overcome difficulties and is prepared to assume responsibilities."

AlexMR
09-16-2007, 09:09 PM
superman, i think checking the weight and BF once per month is not a good idea. It is better for you to check on a wekkly basis. That was it is easy to identify what you shouldnt do and what is working. It also helps you to stay focused. In one whole month so many things can happen and you could actually deviate from your goals for a couple weeks and not notice it.

I strongly suggest you check your weight every week, and more than your weight, check the BF%. As i said, it will help you get back on track when you fall off.

I'm doing very well. I will think I will be posting progress in a weekly basis myself. If not here the info will be in my journal and in mybodyspace.

Later...

Im down to 263.5 myself, and I didnt even check in the morning. Had to go to the doc because I have the condition, vertigo, and I ran outta pills so when I got weighed there I was delighted to see ive lost 3.5 lbs this week. :) Ive been working really hard.

I changed my diet from 6 meals a day to all my calories within 5-7 hours in a day.

So far, its amazing - a huge chunk of stress is gone, and my workouts I have had SO much energy.

However - my weight has gone up since I haven't found the right time to weight myself, since my meals are towards the end of the day - they are still weighing down in the morning - and I drink water all day BEFORE I start eating again.

I do feel leaner, and like I said - the energy is worth it.

In the long run - I think my pics will show the biggest difference, not my weight.

AlexMR
09-17-2007, 10:55 PM
Guys, you cant get discourage because the scale doesnt move down in a week. You all HAVE to buy a caliper. I bought the one for $13 bucks and i m getting the same reads as the doctor in the gym, so it's pretty accurate.

Today i checked the scale and it was late in the night when i usually check it in the mornings, but i had 264pounds. That is a couple more than my last check. The scale was supposedly calibrated because it was off by three pounds. The thing is I am leaner than last week. I can tell. I might post some pics tomorrow and will post my new measures in my bodyspace. I know my waist is smaller than what it was last week. If i'm 10pounds more this week if must be new muscles! So no discouragement, be happy!

For that you need the caliper!

WOW BUjj, great job man!!!

I went to the scale last night and had 264pounds. I know it was because of the time because i cant have that much weight. I dont think it's possible specially because i've lost a inch from my waist and the body fat % is now 21.27% :o. I cant possibly have gained 4pounds of lean mass in 8-9days. That is simply not possible.

Anyways, the thing is the fat is going away. Some veins started popping in my forearms. I had never seen those in my life :). I can also see my quads when i put tension on them. Nice.

I went and bought a new pair of jeans tonight, recently id moved up to a 38 inch waist, but I tried on a 36 for ****s and giggles, and I fit! So im happy about that, im going to bed now. I played basketball for a good hour and a half today and worked out. So Im give out lol.

I really like the improvements going on in here, but i just want to reassure you guys, the first 2 weeks the "weight" drops at quite an alarming rate, due to factors such as water and noob gains/loses.

Please, go by the mirror (caliper), compare photos every 2 weeks of yourself (the mirror everyday can be tricky as well).

I say this not to discourage you but to give forewarning, the object is not "Weight", it is the "Fat" that we are after.

P.S. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs, so when taking a reading of your weight in the evening, when food and water have been consumed, do not be discouraged by the weight fluctuations, whether it be higher or lower.

Train hard, and expect success! Keep it up guys!

Thanks for the kind words basil.

I seem to be doing well, as my progress is continuing. Im getting right about where I want to be. 1lb loss or so this week which is what I want my trend line to look like (that is assuming that I gained 1lb of lean mass as well =p)

may the noobie gains contine.

gl to everyone going forward. may your commitment hold fast, and your metablism get higher, but as for the rest of you, please continue to be inspired.

I've only dropped .4lbs.

I contribue the small weight loss to the addition of creatine. My muscles have definitely gotten bigger even though I'm on a good defict calorie wise.

Feeling leaner everyday =P

Superman, what method are you using to determine the BF%? I dont understand how you lose almost 7ponds and the fat is the same. Sounds weird.

Are you lifting?

superman331
09-21-2007, 05:39 PM
I use the military and the handheld bf machine. I use the the military because that is the only way they determine bf. I can be losing fat just not around my midsection because they take a midsection reading, a neck reading and minus those from each other to determine my fat. I'm losing weight to join so there is no sense in going by calipers. I know it is more accurate but I go by what my recruiter tells me. I'm not lifting right now. It is the way I set my program that works for me up. I will lift after about 20 more pounds lost. I'm doing bodyweight exercises, pushups, and situps for now. Everybody tells me I'm wrong but I know what works for me and doesn't.

I respect you and this not meant to disrespect..:D...but....:D that statement is even contradicting what you have in your signature, below in quotes.

You really should lift. It 100% will help you to lose weight. For most people, lifting is more enjoyable than cardio. You can burn 500-600 cals lifting for 45-60 minutes, but most people won't do cardio long enough to burn 300 cals. Hardcore HIIT for 15 minutes only burns 300 or so cals and walking for 30 minutes does even less. I run a ****load and burn a ****load of calories. I have to eat a ****load of food or I go catabolic and burn muscle mass. I am still losing bodyfat and haven't lost LBM in many, many months. If I blow my diet or don't run enough to burn off the cals, I just add muscle mass, cause I am lifting. The more you burn, the more you can eat and the more you will be mentally happy. You are going to do what you are going to do, but just wanted to throw a new angle at you to get you to think about it. Another good thing about lifting is that if you blow your diet for a day or a week, but continue to lift, you will add muscle by supplying extra cals to build muscle. If you blow your diet and are only doing cardio....you get nothing out of it......ALL of us (or at least the sane one's) have a bad day or are around friends and family or whatever and have cheats. It's what keeps us sane. If you lift, you will at least get some benefit. Think about it.

Have a good one.

Ok I deserved that. But I know what works for my body and lifting doesn't help much for me right now. I said I will start lifting when I'm 20lbs less. I appreciate the comments but I'm doing what I know to do. No disrespect at all. But I have already lost 100lbs before joining bb.com using my methods that work for me. It might be against what a lot of people suggest but it still works for me. I don't starve myself, i eat clean, and exercise two to three times a day. People say that is bad but again it works for me. I feel good with a lot of energy through out the day. I feel like sh#t if I'm not in the gym at least twice a day. Oh yeah signature fixed for now. Down a full inch in both my hip and waist.

I changed my diet from 6 meals a day to 3-4 big meals between a 5-8 hour gap btw.

I have so much energy in the gym, and I can splurge and cheat a little more on foods. Like, eating pizza is no problem - I just have to eat protein only foods the rest of the day to make up for the carbs =P

Weight is about the same as before, 187ish - but like we've already said. I don't care about weight.

I'm going to look so good come end of December. I hope you're all feeling the same.

This is our life fellas.. let's ****ing rock that ****.

I get so many looks from girls right now - I could probably mix up some GREAT game and get laid etc etc, but really - I AM NOT HAPPY with myself yet - I want my goals. I want the girls DROOLING over me, not just smiling and checking me out.

thats thing buddy. Read your statement again. "got to get my mind focused on losing weight, eating right, AND THEN LIFTING." I think you've built a mentality for yourself that lifting will not aid in weight loss. In fact, it wont. BUT, it will aid in FAT LOSS, and this is what you should really re-direct your goals toward. I hope you do reconsider, i would hate for you to make the mistake i did the first time around. After cutting from 240 lbs to 155 lbs, i had no LBM whatsoever, and it really hindered my fat loss approach. I can only hope you add in weight training soon. Perhaps Bodyweight exercises. you'd be surprised how you can manipulate your body's on weight to give you an extra edge on your goals.

In the end, it all does come down to personal preference, and if you truly feel that this will not aid you as of now, then by all means, pass off the above advice. (the reason i bring this subject back up again, is that the 7lbs lost with no change in BF% did concern me.)

As for myself - my progress has been greatly aided by running sprints. I feel almost as if they *tuck in* the stomach and promote fat loss at a faster rate than just normal low/mod intensity running. I can't wait till December comes upon us, the time is going rather fast as of now though!

Like always, Best of Luck to all!

Very nice job derick!!!

You practically got rid of the love handles. Great man. According to the calipers im doing awesome. I will post pics anytime now. I have been a little busy lately and this week only went to the gym 3days. I think that's OK becaus ei had been going nonstop 5-6days a week for about 7-8 weeks in a row. Generally a slow down or a short break does very good for you.

CongrATS MAN. Keep it going. My suggestion is that if you hit a plateau you must start a clean bulk. You dont look fat at all man and if things get hard of the fat loss part a good deal of lean mass can help you get rid of the last few pounds of fat to leanness (is that a word? :))

derickonfire
09-23-2007, 02:22 PM
I agree - I have though of a clean bulk - but I'm not quiet where I want to be.

I think w/ clothes I look fairly normal - maybe just a bigger kind of guy structure wise, ya know?

I do have a bit of fat, but it's mainly in my gut, and in my LOWER BACK I've noticed. That is why I'm still at a 34-36 jean size, I have tons of fat in my back I can feel it.

I've already made plans to cut until January 1st, around the end of this contest - then I am definitely going to clean bulk. I can't wait.

Great work man, true inspiration! Keep it up, looking great. Id also suggest a clean bulk once you stop losing weight as easily. That way you can bulk up at a somewhat slow pace to keep the fat/etc off and then do a short cut and you should be looking great.

I finally got some calipers to get a more accurate BF%. But when this thread started i used the tape measure method. So 2 weeks after the start, tape measure method yeilds 17.42%

Based on the caliper method, I get the following.
Chest:8mm
Ab:24mm
Thigh:29mm
BF%: 17.32

Not too big of a difference between the two. But that's almost 1% reduction in two weeks!! I'm glad, but can anyone else recommend tips to speed that up?

AlexMR
09-24-2007, 10:40 PM
SomeFeind, i suggest you start evaluating your progress with the calipers from now on, because different methods will give you different %s, even if you do it with more points with the same caliper. The calipers will be much more accurate in general.

In the past few weeks i have been losing so much i was doubting what i was getting, but im looking very different and the measures dont lie. My waist is getting smaller every day and im looking a lot more muscular. I also have the possibility of having the BF% taken by a doctor in the gym and his reads are the same as mine, so i know what im getting is the real deal.

To speed up the process...well, what are you currently doing? I think I'll have to agree with most people when they say diet is the key. While i refused to accept this i was losing fat, no doubt, but after cleaning the diet the results have been spectacular. Eat a lot of proteins and supress the sugars. Believe me, it's not the same to have a 1500calories deficit while eating a few milky ways/day than having the same deficit with lots of proteins and a proper macro ratio. A lot of people are going to tell you it's ONLY a matter of calories in vs. calories out but you can only get to a certain point on that mentality, and even getting there will be much harder.

Another good thing is HIIT. A couple sessions per week will be awesome, not only for its direct impact on fat loss, but because you will get in such cardiovascular state that you'll be able to burn a lot more calories in your regular low/medium intensity cardio sessions. I honestly dont know exactly what it is since i incorporated many beneficial things to my routine about 3-4weeks ago (HIIT, clean diet, lots of protein) but i can tell the combination of all is the key to success.

Tom Venuto says that the max sustainable fat loss is about 0.7%/week, that's 3%/month. I know this is more thought for relatively low BF% and not for obese overweight people. I know the winners of the "Body transformation" contest in the Gold's gym lower their body fat % up to 15% in 12weeks.

If you are really 1% down in 14days that's great. Think about it, you are 17%, that means that in only 4months, if you keep your loss speed, you'll be able to get to single digits. That's awesome!!!

GL and keep the good work.

Thanks a lot for the words of encouragement Alex!

Based on your recommendations I think I'm doing all I can with the exception of working out twice a day, which I don't have the time or energy to do.

I've significantly cleaned up my diet. While I'm not following any specific plan, I've got a pretty specific idea of what I'm trying to do. I try not to get any less than 150g of protein a day. I've cut out sugars from my diet, and keep the whole-grain carbs low - usually in the morning before and after my workout. A lot of vegetables and some fruits. I'm eating about 5 meals a day keeping under 4000 cal. for each one. I figure this gives me about 200 calories of wiggle room to stay around my BMR of 2200 cal.

I workout 6 days a week. 30-45 minutes of lifting followed by either 30 minutes of moderate cardio or 25 min (including 5 min warmup, 5 min cooldown) of HIIT on either an upright bike or ArcTrainer.

Single digit BF% in 4 months? Wow, that would truly be amazing.

Well, i can tell. Not as much as my previous one month progress but it's definetely there. The biggest changes are in my mid section. Im losing alot of fat from the stomach and that is great. The chest/waist ratio is much bigger now and i can notice it in the side by side pics.

The caliper read from the chest also went down from 15 to 12 and i can tell. I dont know why im not taking leg pics because i think those are the ones who are showing the greatest progress. I can see my quads when i flex :D.

I encourage you guys to do this because this really keeps you motivated. I feel great because i know im moving in the right direction. That is something im feeling a lot recently because of the feedback of the peeple. Everybody's looking at me saying "dammit man, you've lost a lot of weight! HTF did you do it?" . That and the fact that the clothes are falling off (pants, even with belts) let me know it's noticeable but watching it with side by side pictures has more impact. When you are losign fat fast you kind of keep your old image of yourself. If i imagine myself i dont see me as the guy in the latest pics, i see myself a lot more fat, maybe how i was when i started, but things are definetely changing.

POst some pics, guys! This started 14days ago now.

Gogogogogo. :D.

thx!. I didnt see this post before i my last one. I agree with you. I think the one where you can see the difference the most is the back pics. Although i do see some differences in the front one and maybe the chest looking less fatty in the side pics, but that is me after some serious analysis :).

At first sight the major difference is on the back pics, and because of the better chest/waist ratio.

Thx again.

I cant honestly tell that much of a diff in your pics, but if the calipers say that you are movng along good, then keep on going!

Not trying to sound like a jerk, its just I cant see that much of a difference in the first two pics, and I can see alittle in the back pics. Here are some progress pics of myself, You cant really tell that much of a diff on the Front view, but I think you can see that my gut is getting smaller from the side view.

Ive lost a total of 1 pant size, a 36 isnt tight at all now. Also when looking in the mirror I can see more definition in my chest then I could 2 weeks ago.

With me being a 16 year old, ive kinda stopped trying to force myself to eat completly healthy 100% of the time. If I wanna go out and have a good time with my friends and eat some pizza then I go out and do it. I know some of you are gonna say thats not good, (Alexmr probably :P) but ya know what? I havent gained any weight and I even think it helps me along because I can eat some pizza and stuff and wake up the next morning and be lighter. I dunno thats just one of the new things Ive started doin. If I wasnt 16 then I probably wouldnt be able to do that.

anyway, check out my pics and tell me what you think.

No buck. Im not going to say you need to cut everything that is not 100% healthy from your diet. If you check my journal you will see how much i have cheats. I think their are very very important and not having them is a good way to failure.

I think the best way to post the pics is side by side as i did. It is hard to go back and check and then come and check. For that kind of changes you need to post every 2months :D.

I do remember you being a little more fat in te first pics. You seem to be doing fine.

Have your cheats. Not becaus you are 16 but because they are good and it's important to enjoy life. What you shouldnt do is allow yourself to live to enjoy life eating. I did that OBV and that's the way to 40% BF.

Keep it up!

August made 7 years. I weighed 220 when I came in, dropped to about 204 after basic and A.I.T. and now I think I look absolutely disgusting. I'll get some pics and measurements up today after I come back off of mission.

Took these pics this morning. Also took some caliper measurements. For chest/ab/thigh, I got 5, 25, 22 mm = 15.05% ??? Something in my diet must have changed the readings in the past few days because that would have meant I lost 2% in the past week. My last measurements were around Monday where I got 8/24/29 = 17.32%. I have started weight training my legs which could account for the drop in the thigh caliper measurement. Based on the pics, which % do you think is more accurate?

Anyway, here's where I'm at now.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Just got my supplements in today, so tomorrow morning I am going to be hitting it hard, I had my squad leader do some measurements for me tonight after we got back from mission. Here goes.

Weight: 256
Waist: 45.5 (that hurts me to be honest)
Neck: 17.5
Forearm: 12.5
Biccep: 17.5
Calf: 17
BodyFat: 30.10

Been reading all the diet logs and discovered the Velocity diet. I wanna try it, but all I have at the moment is whey protein, what do you guys think? Also no fiber here, so that may be a problem, if I o start it, I will keep a log. Night all, mission early in the morning.

Hi all, I am inspired by what I have read so far. To tell the truth, I was kind of hoping that I might be able to junp into this, unofficially if need be.
I am in Iraq right now, and wanting to do some serious transforming while over here. I will be going on r&r in November to see my wife and daughter, and want to give my wife a pleasent surprise. If you guys don't mind, I'd enjoy tracking my progress alongside you.

so youll be an unofficial member of the unofficial cutting thread?

anyway, I weighed in at 110.5 this morning, and havent really noticed much visual change in the past 3 weeks, but since my camera is still broken im unable to take my weekly progress pics. hopefully I will save enough money to buy another and post the pics up for you all to laugh at later =)

I started lifting light to moderate weights for high reps. Started running and bodyweight exercises. I dont do logs for the simple fact I forget to write the stuff down. I've done the food log before and is a pain. I think it's because I changed what I was doing before. I am now going to go back and add it to what I'm doing now. Will see.

Usually people set ultimate goals like reaching sub 10% BF. Setting your ultimate goal as 26% BF makes it seem like you have set your sights very low. Don't get me wrong 26% BF is good for a short term goal, but definately not for an ultimate goal.

chest/ab/thigh: 6/22/26 = 15.34% BF

I've gained about 5-10 pounds, but that's gotta be in muscle or extra water weight.

I have relaxed with both diet and exercise routine in the past 3 weeks but im still losing a lot of fat. It's getting to the point where i no longer cant pospone buying some new clothes because im looking very weird with my old ones.

Last time i measured BF i was at 19.2%. If i get to 18.8% by October 21rst i've had a 10% cut in 4months. I will retake my regular routines/diet in a few days.

Im currently at 18.4% BF and 258 pounds. I havent lost so many pounds obv but I have been gaining mass and im still losing about 2% BF/month or more which is quite solid i suppose.

I'll take pics tommorrow...

People are really noticing the changes recently. I'm getting those "you shouldnt lose anymore weight, dood" kinda comment. A friend of mine who got down to 11% BF before an herniated disc problem told me long ago that when that started to happen I was going to be 8-10% BF or 20-25pounds away of a really decent goal. I must say now he's absolutely right. Somebody in the gym told me that I was going to lose 2pounds overall for every1% BF loss. I didnt see it ut back in June 21 i was 278pounds with 28.8% BF and now im 258 with 18.3% BF :o. WOW. It's not coincidence because i was checking some numbers in the previous dates and it seems to work like that.

Keep it going guys!

Next time I will have somebody take them for me. I took measures today and I lost 2.4%BF last in the past 30days, currently at 18.4%. Im not sure about this BF measures though because i still feel fat and im now very close to the "ideal range". I also lost 5pounds (in the past 4 weeks) and since i increased a bit my caloric intake I'm much stronger and able to finish my routines without feeling almost dead. I dont consider it a plateau because i lost a lot of fat and a couple inches from the waist while I was at the same 263pounds.

What i found more weird is that I started losing the pounds precisely when i neglected the diet...a lot. I was having a surplus or anything but i wasnt eating clean and only went to the gym 6-7days in two weeks.

I am doing cardio twice/day since last week. Im feeling very good with it. I want to accelerate fat loss from now on, but sometimes just think about issues like loose skin and that makes me think aboiut keeping it slow and steady as I have been doing.

Alex,
I am in that contest as well. I am still working on this contest. I am not where I wanted to be, nor did I think I would be n the time frame. But anyways, like you said,I am Ok with the weightloss since I joined this contest. You folks have been a great inspiration, and I hope to see some of you other folks in the other Weight loss thread..

Good Luck

GL to you too, bro.

I have always felt the run to be in shape is a marathoon, not a sprint. Sometime sive felt the urge of trying to make things faster but i dont think it's worht the possible side effects.

I joined the other contest because i know it wil help my already skyhigh motivation, and if i only keep the pace i have taken during these past three months (which hasnt been near close to optimal) by the tim the next contest ends (july 1, 08), i'll be in the best shape of my life with no doubt. That is all I want for now.

I would like to see how many of us are still cutting and who has made significant changes!

Post some pics people! :D.

so this pretty much will be my final post.

Im heading out of the country for 2 weeks
start was at 211 and ~27%
end today at 193 and 19%

pics go from the start to mid progress, to end. Its clear to me that I have little lean mass. I figured that having 155lbs of lean mass was fine to be in decent shape when I finished cutting, I realize that Im going to have to get that up to about 170 ... but Ill bulk once I hit 15% or lower.

good luck to everyone else, Ill be checking back in on the 3rd when I get back to the states. Im hoping costa rica will be good for the gut =)

NOT! =P

I think we have to PM every contestant because it seems that most people dont remember about this thing and/or didnt finish.

Superman, there is another contest going. Sign up! I think there is still time.

I think it would be a good idea to accept the photos till TODAY at midnight or even tomorrow (jan 2nd.( by midnight).

What do you think?

PS: U definitely made progress, i think the new contest will be much better as a motivation because there are a lot more people. It should help you to stick with a good plan. Gogogogo.

I missed the last 6weeks because i had to stop dieting because of bad constipation. The doctor said it was normal after being cuting for about 7months. I am still pleased with the results as in the past month ive gained 1.5-2 pound but ive also gained a lot of strength and the BF% remained the same. I missed the 15% (based on my own readings, it has to be much higher) but i got down to 16.4%. Very close.

It was fun and i am still cutting now retaking the dieting. Things look promising and in about 4months i will be in the best shape of my life.

GL everyone!

Well everyone i have failed this contest i knew it would be tough to finish the goals with my wedding honeymoon etc. However i have not completely failed. Instead of cutting to get my abs showing i went ahead and ate well and lifted heavy and currently i am as strong as i have ever been and my shoulders are really starting to come alive. My chest and shoulders are getting big. My back is getting big as well. So I am going to keep lifting hard and heavy and hope to gain another 5-7 lbs of lean mass up until march then start a cut diet to get my lean abs about 13 lbs heavier than when i started. I will get some pics soon.

Good job Alex, I think you did great..

Thanks bro. I did OK. I didnt lose anything in the last 5weeks. Im trying to ake it up now though. I had a terrible constipation and had to consume more carbs and fewer meats trying get better. I also started eating a lot more -maintenance. The good part is that I got much stronger and i think it is noticeable. I gained 1pound in the last 5 weeks of the contest and BF% remained exactly the same (3skinfold method).

Let's post some pics and vote for the winner!

PS: Dammit derick!! You're really on fire. You have my vote! :D.
