I've been reading a lot about different kinds of diets, namely ketogenic. I am currently 6ft, 180lbs w/ 17% bodyfat. My current stats encourage me to begin a cutting phase. Like I said before, I've been reading a lot about keto diets and almost every source i've seen doesn't really go into possible side effects specifically related to your kidneys.

Why my concern with my kidneys? Well, at different points in my life, my urine has shown up as having increased protein levels. The doctors have said this could be related to my kidneys, the only thing they ever had me do was drink more water. I currently drink over 1 gallon of water a day, i haven't had my urine tested for atleast a year. Just wondering if anyone who knows more about keto diets has anything to say about potential problems i may have or precautions i should take, besides the typical multivitamin, given my past history.

Thanks
