Um I actually saw this recipe posted on here a few months ago and just tried it... I thought I would go ahead and post it.

4 tbs. flaxmeal
2 egg whites
2 tbs. sour cream
4 tbs. water ( I only used three)
splenda (optional)
cinnamon (optional)
Baking powder ( I use a little more than a tsp.)

This was originally for waffles but I don't have a waffle maker so I poured them onto a griddle and made pancakes. They turn out better if you make smaller pancakes and let them cook quite a while. Spray with butter or real butter and drench in sugar free syrup. YUM!!!

okay would it be in the regular section with syrup cause I tried a&p and I saw none with the regular syrup, they have 80% less calories but theres still like lots of sugar in it

HAHA thanks for the recipe... I actually love them :) The sugar free syrup is with the regular. I got mine at Albertsons... they had tons to choose from. There are sugar alcohols in them though... so beware!

Ok. How long does Ketosis take to occur? If I gain more then a lb this week I'm gonna do a mini-cut, and i dont want to lose muscle.

Fake carbs. They're kind of like chemical carbs. Look up "Isomalt, sorbitol, maltitol" on wikipedia

Why would you mini-cut, you are 135lbs?

Sugar-Alcohols are best kept out of a keto diet.

I can't speak from personal experience but others have claimed that it kicks you out of ketosis.

Still, you can get sugar-free syrups from Walden Farms, they are available in most Farmer's Markets (Sprouts, Whole Foods, etc). They have delicious maple, strawberry and yes, even chocolate syrups with 0g carbs.

just curious to how many servings this makes - also if i added a scoop of whey protien powder at 3g of carbs and 24 grams of protien would i be messing up the percentages so that it wasn't classified as keto anymore?

Can the flaxmeal be substituted for ground flaxseeds? I'll give this a try, it looks good and simple. The Sugar free syrup I have has a decent amount of carbs though.

I hope there are better types of sugar free syrup around. I tried Atkins brand syrup one time and it tasted like 1 tsb of syrub diluted in a cup of water.

Also all carbs, net or sugar alcohols or fiber can kick you out of ketosis.

I am giving this recipe a bump

This has been in my favorites for a while and I made them tonight. More people need to eat these.

I really like Davinci Pancake syrup. 0 carbs, 0 calories. It's a little watery but way way better than eating your pancakes plain.

Um no, it depends on the person. Some people do just fine eating sugar alcohols. Fiber won't kick you out of Ketosis.

I made these subbing fat free Greek yogurt for the sour cream.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. Anyway, they were really good. Added some butter spray and Walden Farms syrup. I used about 1/4 cup batter per pancake.
