I have been on this diet since last monday(9 Days) and feel great and see a difference already, but was wondering if the split is good and if I am to low or high on the calories. I am currently on a cutting diet.
I am 5'11 230 LBS around 18% BF. Trying to get down to around 205LBS 2 9-10% BF.

calories 2773
Fat-87g
carbs-215g( all from fruits, whole wheats, and Oatmeal)
Protein-289g

At my weight, how many calories should I eat to maintain my weight? Just curious.

If you're eating 2700+ calories and noticing a difference. I would say there probably is not anything wrong.

thanks, just want to make sure its enough calories, I have good muscle mass, and dont want to lose to much. I know I will lose some, theres no way around it when cutting, but want to keep it minimal.

Doesn't that seem like a lot of protein?

Not really!

To the OP, where do u get the protein? from meat?

well you're taking in over 40 percent protein, which I think is too much...but if you're cutting it's a pretty solid number to be at, as long as your kidneys can handle it

That doesn't sound like too much protein. I'm about 160 pounds and I eat around 250-300 grams of protein per day. He weighs a lot more than me too so I think it should be fine.

Looks good man. Good luck.

Yea and again there are a lot of factors that effect how much cal. you need that still undefined, for example your cal. exp. per day or workout etc however none of this is an exact science you can try to get close but again a lot is done on guessing and trail and error, so id say if you eat that much cal. for a week or so and see results heading in the direction you like then just keep it up and tweak it as you go.

You simply dont have to lose muscle. Lift hard and keep the proteins up.
