Are you taking it straight? I use mine in protein shakes, on my cottage cheese, yogurt, etc and I don't taste a thing that way. Right out of the bottle can be nasty.

You will always be burping it up if you take it straight.

Eeewww!

I use either the caps or put the ground flax in my smoothie or cereal.

I take it straight..chase it with anything I can find. I only drink one protein shake a day and its right after workout and don't want the fats then. I have mixed it with tuna and its not AWFUL, but not something I look forward to taking.

Try taking the capsules rather than using the oil from the bottle.. no taste, no after tase, and no "flaxy" burps (at least for me). Another alternative is enteric coated fish oil capsules... they have a special coating that does not disolve until it hits your small intestine preventing fishy burps as well.

good luck!

There are a lot of studies coming out connecting flaxseed oil and prostate cancer. I'd go with olive oil and get my efas from food sources. I know there are people out there who will say the studies don't absolutely prove it, but if it were my prostate (If'n I had one :D ), I'd err on the side of caution. :D

Anyway, I imagine it does taste nasty drinking it straight from the bottle! LOL

I've seen the same information as Hibiscus09 concerning a possible link between prostate cancer and flax seed oil ... here's a link to an article that discusses some studies on both sides of the issue:

and here are a few more that might be helpful:

Soon wiping your ass will cause prostate cancer :D Is there anything that doesn't cause cancer these days?

I heard it from Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld. He said he advises his patients (males) not to use flaxseed oil, as you can live without it, and why risk it?

I figure there will be a lot of eye rollers on this one since a lot of you guys drink it like water  , but as I said, if it were my prostate, I'd play nice with it. :D LOL

I don't take that much as it is and when I run out I probably won't be taking any more since what I've been taking is probably not enough either way to make a difference in gains.

Overall I've been cutting back a lot on many supplements. I've been doing better without them and saving money.

I'm just waiting for the next study that says protein causes your muscle fibers to explode. lol

Well, your silly asses can laugh at the doctors all you want. :D I bet you won't be laughing when you're in the hospital. All of a sudden the docs are geniuses then. "Doctor, doctor, save me!! I've been such a good boy and taking my flaxseed oil each day!" LOL!

I do hope you continue to wipe your asses, however, whether it causes cancer or not. Assuming you ARE wiping your asses.

LOL. Probably more fun if you can get someone else to play nice with it. But having a urologist do it wasn't fun :(

Hey hib, having your prostate prodded by a urologist is about as fun as when women have their nether regions spelunked by the gyn.
