How long does it take for the protein powder in water to spoil?

i remember reading in an article (from a reliable source) that after 10-15 minutes the protein dissolves into the water and becomes worthless, which is the reason buying ISOPURE already-made protein drinks is a waste of money

This topic has been discussed before so a search should yield results.

I think you might be thinking of creatine being worthless in ~15 minutes

Protein eventually denatures in water. I do not know the amount of time though.

There are other threads discussing this so if you need exact times you will need to search. But essentially, you should drink your shake immediately.

hmm hopefully its not true, i make my shake before i workout because when i get home, i cbf getting all the ingredients out, putting it in the blender, and all that.

i just goto the fridge and 'DADA' my protien shake is there waiting for me to glob it down :)

so i should put thwe whey in the bottle and just get water from the water fountain at the gym (if they have one)???

THE PROBLEM WITH THAT, is that whenever i try to do it with just a shaker bottle, it always ends up in clumps and doesnt mix, what should i do????

also how do you make sure the bottle is 100percent dry?

think about it,
if you mixed chicken/tuna in water would it go bad?
whey won't denature in water, especially if you leave it for 6-8hrs.
nothing to worry about.

Damnit, that sucks. I'm out of the apartment from 6:30 in the morning until about 7 at night. This is going to be tricky trying to mix shakes right before I drink them. I may just have to carry more tuna around with me.
