I know there was already a thread about this but let's have another go at it.

It'll be interesting to see if things have changed post 2004 elections in BOTH Canada and U.S. and of course, in other countries of the world.

Here are my results:

Economic left/right: -2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.74

Yep, sounds like me.

I think this thing asks bad questions

for example:
an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth

well personally I believe in turning the other cheek(of course I dont always live up to this) but I want my country to defend itself against aggression

I think it was meant more towards criminals.

For example, if a man kills another man, should he be executed... That's what I think.

Yeah, some of the questions could be interpreted many ways. For example:

"The most important thing for children to learn is to accept discipline."
Are they asking if discipline is more important than education or health, or are they just asking that children should understand punishments and comply with discipline?

"Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers."
For this one I would say I strongly agree. Somehow I doubt the compass cares that I would have strongly agreed if it said "fathers" instead of "mothers." Parents are parents and family first, bread-winners second. But instead they probably knocked me as an authoritarian because they think I want women to stay at home.

Anyway...

I agree with some of the questions being out of touch. Different questions could swing the numbers.
