I like gatorade or other sports drinks if during/after running, or when I have a hangover...but during lifting...I dont think its THAT necessary.

for a one hour weight training session and if you have had a solid pre workout meal then no. but any longer then it would not hurt.

I agree ... Gatorade tastes good, but if you don't want any extra calories, stick to water.

nay unless you train like an animal.

you've got nutrition before and after your workout, it's not necessary to "replenish" electrolytes while you're lifting.

you know when you need to drink gatorade? when you work in the sun all day and cook in front of a 6 foot long commercial grill AT THE BEACH (yes my job). talk about sweating.

I agree, it's not necessary. Pre-workout nutrition is more important IMO.

I used to do that too, but I couldn't stomach the price of xtend anymore. :(

nay

weight lifting should be under an hour and water will do just fine..

however, if ur an enurance athlete and are doing extended cardio sessions (2+ hours) gatorade would be a good idea

If you start drinking gatorade, you need to drink an equal amount of water.

Go for powerade, it's already diluted :D :D :D, which is probably why it tastes like ****.

nay.

you dont want sugar during a workout (can cause insulin spike). you want it AFTER with protein.

The primary ingredient in gatoraide is high fructose corn sweetener
I'm not sure if I agree that the need to replenish electorlyes during anaerobic training is really all that big a need

If we were talking about a marathon , that would be different

take it immedialty after your workout. drop the weight pick up the gatorade. during your workout you should drink water. after your workout your body is a sponge and gatorade should be the first thing in your body. post workout carbs are very important. drink gatorade eat lots of carbs, i like pasta MMMMMM......... along with your carbs have some protein not too much though you dont want to slow the digestion of the carbs, about 15 grams will do. the next meal after this should have a complete protein (30g) lots of fats and some carbs
