Since you're just waking up, and only have 30mins before your workout... You can't really have much, as you'll get sick.

I say a small Protein shake with some dextrose to get you going.

yeah i was thinking a heavy shake might be bad.. im thinking more like 3-4 bananas and egg white protein.

*edit* your body is starved for carbs and protein... carbs right after you wakeup is a good time, and you burn them off during the workout.

Bananas are a lot of fat i believe.. something you wouldn't want right after you wake up.. your body is starved for carbs and protein... carbs right after you wakeup is a good time, and you burn them off during the workout.

Lol...serious?

bananas are a fruit-carbs

hahaha.. my bad, i was thinking of something else... i'm low-carbed, can't you tell?

anyways, fructose is not optimum for pre-workout shake.

hahaha wow.

fructose is not optimum for post-workout, but pre-workout i don't see what would be wrong with it...

so no banana/egg white powder combo?

in my opinion, a banana/egg white powder combo would be fine. pretty good actually

i would say fructose is not optimum in terms of fast acting/burning carbs for preworkout energy... not at least when you have malto/dextrose.

i was reading something on here about how 2 bananas are enough to fuel a 2 hour workout alone..

nonetheless, both will work...theyre both carbs, you need carbs when you get up
