I think it could, in both ways. It'll make you a better defender, but there is a player (Rashad McCants) who can't really work out because he gets strong so fast, that it throws off his shot.

Don't know why this is posted in the supp section.

Of course it will help out. You just cant go for the whole power lifting thing!

no.... Pro's lift, and they'll make you bust your butt in the weight room in college as well. They don't do Heavy weight or anything, but yes weights is beneficial...

i agree, strengthening your legs will just make you jump higher and be quicker, with upperbody i would do low weight and a lot of reps so that it wont affect your shot

that's what I was thinking. Just be glad you have a basketball that wants to workout, unlike that lazy-ass deadbeat basketball that I got.
