Decided to bring this up after I wen't fishing all day today. After 8 hours I only managed to catch 2 Catfish and almost had a rockfish.

So whats you favorite fish to catch? Or eat if you don't fish.

I fish a lot at the local lakes and rivers here in Kansas and Missouri and I have eaten almost every kind of fish native to the two states. For local fish nothing beats trout. It is literally the best tasting fish I have ever had. That is not to say that catfish, and crappie don't taste good, they are excellent too, just not as good as trout.

As for fish that aren't native to where I live, salmon, tuna, and tilapia are the three I eat most often and they are pretty damn good as well. Never had any of them fresh, so I can't rate them above trout for now.

Finally there are fish that I absolutely hate cooking and cleaning to eat. Such a fish is the carp. I am quite confused why it is even on the list. It is the worst tasting fish I have ever had. Not only that but when you cut one open, it stinks like death and horse ****. If you do decide to deal with the horrible taste and eat it, you are confronted with a million tiny bones. I certainly avoid eating this fish, though they are fun to catch.

oh lord so many option, man i love fish. Let me put it this way, anything i catch that is edible i will eat and make it taste good

Going out 2marrow hopefully we will catch our limit of fluke, mabey even if were lucky some sea bass and tautag. yum yum. I may keep a bluefish or two , they don't taste bad but are so easy to catch its a fking joke. I cant believe its 4 bucks a pound for bluefish in the store. If only people realized just how trashy and easy a fish it is to catch, its honestly a joke you don't even have to try and you can catch one.

On a side note, flounder and sea bass are rediclious in the stores its like 9 bucks a pound. Last week we filled up the boat with at least 15pounds flounder.

I like Salmon for a fishy fish, and Asian Basa for a non-fishy fish.

When eaten raw, I like sashimi grade tuna best.

But medium-rare tuna steak comes in a close second place

x 3.

great white fish, very versatile, not a lot of bones.

excellent broiled in the oven, topped with a little balsamic and soy. too bad it's getting fished to death, and that what's often labelled chilean seabass at the stores isn't.

I like a lot, but none of them are on that list... I grew up on the coast of Florida so I'm a lil picky.

Red Snapper/Grouper/Pompano/Wahoo/Smoked Mullet/Bluefin Tuna

I'm not real big on freshwater fish, esp northern waters, I can't stand the taste of salmon. As one poster said fried bass/crappie/bream/shellcrackers are pretty good though for freshwater, as well as the smoked mullet.
