View Full Version : Green Tea - Ok to SunBrew or Hot Prep only?

I used to drink alot of sunbrewed tea and I'm curious if I can prepare green tea this way and still get the benefits?

By sunbrew I mean, filling up a gallon jug with water, hanging 5 to 7 tea bags from the rim and leaving it outside while I go to work. Sometimes I'd put a few slices or lemon, lime or orange for a change of pace.

Thanks in advance.

Sure you can..I do it all the time. Lipton makes Green Tea that you can sun brew and I have been drinking it all summer. I usually buy it at the supermarket (Albertson's in Southern CA).

I drink two quarts of green tea a day usually. I get the lipton decaf bags and put 3 in a jug with 2 quarts and leave it sit out till the water turns greenish. Then I put it in the fridge until its cold.
