Hi all,

I'm pretty confused about it...

I read artificial sweeteners didn't induce insulin secretion bt I also read that there was a cephalic (brain) insulin phase due to its sweet taste...

What do you know about it ?

Should I worry if I use 1/2 tbs of sweetener daily ?

I think the problem is that we really don't know the long-term implications of what's in this stuff! It scares me! I don't think, though, that 1/2 Tbsp/day is likely to be lethal or very harmful. (as long as you don't mean that YOU only add 1/2 T but you happen to also drink a six pack of diet coke/day)

But, like I said, I don't think anyone can really answer that.

It boils down to:
It can make you more hungry.
But it can not in any way make you gain weight/more likely to gain weight, etc.

If you count calories then have as much as you want.

Someone posted a study that threw out that belief a couple months ago. Do a search.
