View Full Version : carbs from 100% whole wheat bread?

I'm trying to lose body fat, and have got a lot of good advice here at bb.com, I'm curious though, I've always heard that 100% whole wheat bread was just as good for carbs as long grain brown rice, sweet potato's, and oats. Is this true, or is bread "bread" no matter how you "slice it"(lol)? Is bread really that much worse than the other 3 carb sources? Why would people say to eat the 100% whole wheat bread in the first place? Is that just meant if you HAVE to eat bread???

Even though 100% ww bread is far better for you than white bread, that 100%whole wheat has been ground into flour, which will cause for a higher gi and insulin release. If you like bread, either cut back on it, or go for ezekiel bread. It has no flour, only sprouted grains. It's great for you. Whole wheat is still flour based, and they usually put gluten in it. What you are looking for is whole GRAIN bread. Grains = good :)

Talking in terms of fat loss bread will make it harder for you.
