Been in the fat loss game for a long time. Currently 202lbs[this morning] at 6'1.

I wanna hit 180lbs by July 1st, which is exactly 4 weeks away. That's about 5lbs a week weightloss. It's definitely more than I would aim for, but I'm gonna give it a go on the velocity.

Will take pics weekly. Post starting pics later.

Start diet tomorrow, Monday, June 4th.

Current pic at end of day - not trying to look good, flex or suck in. Not pretty, but that's reality.

6:00pm - 2 scoops whey, 4000mg omega 3
8:00pm - 2 scoops whey, 4000mg omega 3, small serving sweet corn.

No weightlifting, throw in some medium paced cardio later. = 50 mins hike in the woods/other random stuff

Day one measurements; will measure again Sunday 6/10.

forearm/upper arm - 12"/14"
chest[relaxed] - 43.5"

I got a good deal at GNC today...I know, shocking, isn't it? Fish oil caps 1000mg 360ct. BOGO free!
740,000mg for...$22. I'm happy with that. lol.

Also got my Ephedrine in the form of Primatine. Just took my first dose of EC. We'll see how that goes.

Another great indication that I'm losing bodyfat, I saw bicep vascularity for the first time ever last night. That pleases me. It's something I've always wanted. The simple things that make fat kids happy...:)

Another day out handling business so had to improvise on 2 meals, food/exercise details edited in later.

EDIT #1; 1 hr walk/jog/sprints. Kind of a light HIIT I guess you could say. Having a dog comes in handy. EC stack is doing it's thing! I'm not one who gets all hyped up about supps, but I've got some energy. It's not like a "OMG I'm so messed up and jittery", it's more of a smooth energy that allowed me to run around for an hour with no difficuly whatsoever type deal. lol. I have faith that this stack is gonna do well.

EDIT #2;

10:00am - EAS Myoplex original
12:00pm - 2 scoops whey, 4000mg fish oil
2:00pm - Detour bar - improvised meal
3:30pm - 200mg caffeine, 25mg Ephedrine HCL
4:00pm - Beef Jerky, 2000mg fish oil - improvised meal
1 hr walk/jog/sprint
6:00pm - 2 scoops whey, 4000mg fish oil, 1x multi, 2x calcium
~~~~~ sipping 1 serving Scivation Xtend
8:00pm - 2 scoops whey, 4000mg fish oil
1702 cals, 253g protein, 83g carbs, 36g fats
Nice. :)
Note; I have been lifting Religiously since Jan '06, but can't get in gym til June 18th. Will have to shell out some cash and get some weights here at the house ASAP.
Good day though.
EDIT #3; REDNECK LEG DAY
What do you do when you can't get to the gym? Don't say "eh forget about it". Improvise.
Squats deepest & best form possible w/ brother on back 155lbs, 4x10
Calf raises w/ 155lb brother on back, toes on 2" block of wood, 3x12
Absolutely ghetto fabulous but you gotta do what you gotta do, and it did the trick.
PaLftr
Decided to weigh myself this morning just to see how I was doing. 197lbs on the dot.
Quads are genuinely sore from my redneck squatting session, I don't lift legs very often so the paltry weight of 155lbs gave me a decent workout. As soon as I can bulk I'm focusing on the legs bigtime.
Everything's going well though. It's not that much of a challenge sticking to the diet. I have eaten solid foods here and there when I had to, but I kept them pretty clean.
Diet;
All meals were 2 scoops whey and 4000mg fish oil, except two.
At 4 and 6pm I had a medium sized chicken breast.
Totals 1770 38F 41C 302P
Carbs are super low, I even through in a couple pieces of whole wheat bread in a couple of my meals or I would have been at around 20g carbs for the day. I might cycle low days and high[er] days.
Exercise;
2 half hour brisk walks at good heart rate throughout the day.
30 mins light basketball.
Gonna try and work some arms with the 30lb DB I found in the garage. Gotta get some equipment ASAP.
Anyway, apart from no gym, good day!
Keeping an eye on me there FMJ?
Everything's going very well, except for the fact that I can't lift, but after losing so much weight and only gaining muscle, I have faith that I won't lose too much muscle mass. I'm just an anti-catabolic individual. lol.
Energy is fine. Everyone complains so much about how they can't function without carbs and such. Low carbs doesn't affect me at all. Just the fact that I'm losing weight, and in order to lose more weight I have to move around, sort of gives me energy subconsciously, if that makes ANY sense. My energy is up every day that I'm healthier, low carbs or not. In fact carbs make me tired. That's just me!
EC stack is going great. I'm not really sensitive to stims but I have faith that it's doing it's job. On Sunday I'll start 2x a day dosing.
Today's exercise;
fast paced walk/basketball/alot of moving around :p
Just keeping it low intensity which is what is suggested while on this diet.
Today's Nutrition;
Totals 1721cals 42F 68C 261P
It varies slightly daily because I'll have a lowish calorie, high protein meal at some point during the day, just to split up the monotony. It won't hinder my results.
That is all. :)
Went out yesterday afternoon til around 2am so I didn't update. Diet also suffered yesterday.
A few of my close friends graduated yesterday so I went to graduation and a few after parties.
Diet went as follows;
10am 2 scoops whey, 4g fish oil
12pm 2 scoops whey, 4g fish oil
2pm 2 scoops whey, 4g fish oil
4pm 2 scoops whey, 4g fish oil
8:30ishpm had a chicken wrap - no dressing
9pm around 3/4 of a cup of beer I was offered, and that's it.
So diet wasn't perfect, but I wouldn't say I purposely "cheated". A lot of my friends are leaving very soon to start college early, so I wanted to congratulate them and spend some time with them.
Didn't do any cardio as it was around 94 degrees on Friday - Yes I'm lazy, I just wasn't feeling the idea of going outside and working out. lol
Update for Saturday later today!
Ileft saturday afternoon and got back sunday at around midnight. Couldn't do the Vdiet while I was away, but now that I'm back home, it's all systems go.
I'm also starting 2x a day EC dosing.
Now, for my results.
regular text is start, bold is now.
202lbs 195.5lbs
neck - 16" 16"
forearm/upper arm - 12"/14" 12"/14"
chest[relaxed] - 43.5" 42.5"
navel/hips - 41" 39.5"
Very happy with these results.
Upped the dosing of the EC stack to twice a day. Still doesn't affect me much...
Exercise
As far as cardio I did a 40 min brisk walk, and worked on my truck for about 2 hours, which truly does make you break a sweat and gets the arms pumped.
I'm gonna do a little full body workout right now with my single dumbell. I'll be back in the gym next week today! :) Thankfully.
Diet
Stuck to it to a T today;
1544 cals, 276g P, 30g C, 32g F
I'm feelin a carb-up day tomorrow. Maybe hit 100g or so.
My first week went well so hopefully this week yields similar or better results. Of course you can't see a huge difference between the pics, but it's one week and 6lbs on a 6'1 frame. Hopefully week 2 pic will be more of a change.
Great numbers for one week man .
I think you will hit your goal of 5lbs a week. You are a lb ahead and had a cheat and a weekend you couldn't follow plus were not in the gym. This next 2 weeks should be awsome and then a strong finish I'm Subbed.
Man today sucks.
Meals;
Meal 1; KFC snacker
Meal 2; Metrx protein plus bar
Meal 3; 2 pieces whole wheat & TBSP natty PB, Myoplex Original [280 cals, 42g pro, 20g carb, 5g fat for the Myoplex]
Meal 4; 2 slices whole wheat, TBSP natty PB
And NOW I'm off to a party for a friend leaving for Iraq next week.
UPDATE; had 7 light beers, 2 chicken patties and a few chicken strips.
All I've had today is 2 large slices of pizza. [WEDNESDAY]
Man. It's amazing how these foods used to give me great pleasure, now I feel like **** for eating this garbage.
What a waste of 2 days. ****ing ridiculous.
What a ****ty day. Will update later/tomorrow.
got in around 3 and updated previous post, ate 2 slices of pizza, then went to sleep until 10pm. Then had 2 slices whole wheat with 4 chicken tenders. Then went back to bed around 1am.
IDK wtf I've been thinking, but let's call it a refeed. :(
Weighed in at 195.6 this morning. Same as monday. That's what ONE NIGHT of going out drinking did and a **** following day. Absolutely pissed. Should be around 192-193 right now.
Well because of this, I pulled out of my group of friend's annual camping trip, cause I'm not wasting more days.
Pissed.
Thursday update later.
My damn power keeps going out for some reason so I didn't wake up in time today for my scheduled six meals. I'll end up only having 3 meals today.
Meal 1 [2pm] ; 1 cup brown rice, 1 cup broccoli, 1 cup chicken breast
Meal at 4pm slipped my mind, wasn't hungry; took EC
1hr 30 mins hike, 5 miles, brisk pace, uneven ground
6pm ; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil
Will do; 25 mins stationary bike, while sipping 1 serving Scivation Xtend amino acids.
^^^ Replaced with - 3 sets of 10 and 1 set of 12 reps 150lbs Parallel Squats supersetted with 4x10 donkey calf raises on 3" block, BW + 150lbs.
Immediately followed by 8pm meal below
8pm ; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil
I HAVE to stay 110% from now til monday. I've really lost these last few days and it really makes my blood boil.
I'll have what's mine. No more BS. No more going out.
Week 2 has plain sucked. I didn't stay 100% the whole week like week 1, and I'm gonna say this week's results aren't going to be anything special.
I don't find it hard adhering to the diet at all, just when friends invite me out it throws me off track quite a bit.
Exercise for today;
2 sessions of "backyard football". One 30 mins the other around 50 minutes.
Good medium intensity cardio.
I'll be back in the gym very soon :D
Food for today;
Woke up late once again and missed my 10am, THEN I fell asleep after taking EC [???] and missed 2pm.
Meal 1; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil, 2 slices whole wheat + 1.5 TBSP natty PB
Meal 2; Fell asleep and missed 2pm! ahh
Meal 3; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil
Meal 4; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil
Meal 5; 2 scoops whey, 5g fish oil
Totals;
REALLY low today since I missed those meals :(
1359 cals, 41g fat, 50g carbs, 195g protein
Tomorrow will be much better.
Way to go!
I would probably still get that 5th meal in somewhere, wether it be late at night or inbetween two other meals as you're already cutting out a lot of calories and will need all you can get.
I recently just started myself and I know if I don't get all 5 then I feel very hungry/weak.
This thread piqued my curiosity and I checked out the velocity diet. That's prety hardcore, don't think I would last long with so little solid food. Props to you for giving it a go!
Just curious, what is the logic behind doing this as opposed to eating solid food with the same amount of calories and protein/carb/fat ratios per day? It would seem to me that the extra work the body does digesting the solid food would be a good thing...
Just for simplicity/convenience I suppose. You could follow a solid food diet using the same caloric intake and macros and it wouldn't make much of a difference.
Finally a good day. I made all my meals.
I'm leaving for Europe for 5 weeks on July 7th where I grew up most of my life. I've been living in America for around 2.5 years.
I've gotta kick things up a notch in order to try to get lean before then. I'm hoping I can leave looking decent. I'm not sure how much can be done in 20 days though. :(
Didn't do any form of cardio today considering it was about 90 degrees. I don't know how you guys in warmer climates can do it but in this heat I don't feel like doing a damn thing.
Nutrition;
Decided to throw a slice of Whole wheat bread in 4 of my meals today, since my carbs have been ridiculously low lately. I'll be increasing my carbs now that I'm back in the gym [tomorrow] too.
Totals; 1962 cals, 42g fat, 101g carbs, 291g protein
I think its to make it seem better than it is. If you eat solid food you retain water, but if you are drinking your food you retain less/if any water. Thus making it seem like you lost a lot of fat.
ctjacket
No.
The point without solid food is that it is very, very simple and not a whole lot of thinking has to go into it. Don't give the person any options.
Weighed in this morning at 193lbs flat. Loss of only 2.5lbs, but it's a loss nonetheless, and I had quite a few terrible days during week 2. Too much socialising and not enough focus.
Measurements; Start - week one - Week two
202lbs - 195.5lbs - 193lbs
neck - 16" 16" 16"
forearm/upper arm-12"/14" - 12"/14" 12/14"
chest[relaxed] - 43.5" 42.5" 42.5
navel/hips - 41" 39.5" 39"
After 3 weeks out of the gym, my workout was ****.
Went to bench 135 as usual, only got 4 reps, said to myself, wtf?
Put 115 on and got it for 2 sets of 10
Then headed over to flat DB bench. Picked up my usual 50lbers, couldn't do it, went 45, not happening [getting pissed at this point], tried 40's, no go [WTF], went to the 35's, wasn't happening. I was pissed as hell. Benched w/ 30lb DBs instead of my usual 50s for 3 sets of 10. AHHH
Then did skullcrushers, tricep extensions, tricep pushdowns.
Pretty **** workout I must say. Haven't lost any size from my arms, but man are they weak. Hopefully next week I'll be sorta back to normal.
Back and Biceps tomorrow, hopefully it goes better.
No cardio today, but pretty much everything I did had me drenched in sweat, again, highs around 90 degrees.
Nutrition;
Higher carbs since I've been supplementing meals with slices of whole wheat, and had an EAS Myoplex [280 cal, 42g pro, 22g carb. 5g fat] and slice of bread PWO.
1950 cals, 42g fat, 130g carb, 244g pro
EDIT: Did get plenty of compliments from friends who haven't seen me since school was out saying I've lost weight and I'm looking "skinny", so that's good. :)
Not much at all, 9lbs in 2 weeks...well I suppose that's decent, but I'm not impressed.
First week I lost 6.5lbs IIRC and 2nd week was only like 2lbs.
chrischap01
06-20-2007, 08:59 AM
That's faster than a 200 pound man can typically lose no matter what diet/exercise program they follow. That's a good pace, dude. The leaner you are, the longer it takes to lose weight, so you shouldn't compare the results of this to your past results.
Do you think the second week was just your body adjusting, or was it cheats? If it was cheats then you could probably lose almost twice as fast on this as you could on a more traditional clean diet/exercise program.
Well Cawi. I eat every 2 hours and don't get hungry. It doesn't taste great but I just down it and follow it with water. I just don't find it that bad.
I'd say you could mix in a solid meal a day. Today for example I had a chicken breast and brown rice for one of my meals. It pretty much keeps with the macros and tastes great.
You could make up a solid food diet w/ same calories and macros and get the same results.
As for today's update; I lost track of stuff but I didn't cheat.
maybe someday, bro, but it is all I can do to stick with this 2-3 pound per week pace that I am on. I will watch you and learn for the time being!
That's a very good pace to be at, bro. If you can keep at that pace steadily then you're good to go. Most of my weight was lost losing 1-2lbs a week. This is the first time I've tried a "crash diet" and lasted more than a couple days.
Today's foods;
2 slices white toast [yuck]
medium sized ham steak
2 whole eggs
1 cup sweet potatoes
later today...
couple brownie squares
later....
few tablespoons natural peanut butter.
IDK what that is, or why I'm not sticking to the diet, but it needs to change.
I felt like **** and went on a 45 min jog.
Umm...I'll be continuing with this diet [or TRYING] until July 6th[The Vdiet, not today's meals!!]. I will post final stats and a picture then, and let it be suspenseful.
It might turn out well, or I might look the same as now. We'll see :D
Was today your once a week meal day?
Or are you doing the 1 meal a day option?
I had light beer on the first weekend.
I haven't been doing well on week 2 or 3 either. I'm not gonna lie to anyone, I suck with commitment, and I don't have much discipline.
Due to that fact, I'm continuing for 2 more weeks and I'm gonna attempt to do well.
Why are you waiting til july 2nd?
Actually starting July 5th.
I am going out of town this weekend.
Also leaving for Montreal, Canada on Wednesday of next week, coming back Sunday.
My partner in crime for this, Hotmoltenlava , will be on vacation with his family till the 3rd.
Than you have 4th of July.
So we are doing it on the 5th. We are starting a log to keep track of each other.
Hmm.
At this point it's useless to say I've been on the velocity diet.
I only did the first week successfully. Ever since then, it's been day on, day off etc.
My willpower is ****.
As of Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 27th, I will leave for Europe in 10 days [July 7th].
I'm going to get back on Velocity without failure for 10 days. Then post final results of this mess.
My apologies.
