What do you guys eat in order to get energy for a late night workout. I dont want to drink coffee because that will keep me up all night.

umm well id try for a banana? or some oatmeal.

cup of oats,

banana,

cup of milk,

pb,

and whey,


all blended to perfection.

730 cals,
105 g carbs,
47 g protein,
17 g fat.


Lots of calories can be eaten at such late hours, what you eat should always be reflected by when you hit the gym. A pre and post workout meal is ideal.


I would eat the exact same thing post WO except for the pb,


adjust your macros accordingly.

A couple of things to try singularly or together prior to ...

- Eat or drink something warm to help warm your body up
- Don't sit around, stand up and walk/pace around
- Put on a set of headphones and listen to music you find lights a fire under your butt
- Visualize the perfect workout that you are about to perform
- Watch a training video from a respected pro

Lethagy kills natural energy... you have to use mental visualization and stimulation since you want to go sans stims...

Pre workout ur going to want
a vital source of protein (eggs, chicken, tuna etc etc)
a good starchy carb (low gi) whole grain bread/cereal, brown rice, sweet potoato , yams, oatmeal
and a solid piece of fruit is a boost such as an apple, orange, and bananas are great for energy

try like depending on ur weight

? oz of meat (depending on protein requirement)
1 sweet potato, 1/2 cup oats , 1/2 cup brown rice (again size depending on macros)
apple / orange/ banana

a great meal that will energize u up..
if u want have some green tea with it also
