I ate a cup of spinach a day for about two weeks and my biceps look bigger.

Why does spinach increase muscle mass?

I have been eating it on everything lately, in my omeletes, on my sandwiches, on my homemade pizza, it is good stuff.

I think that it is a myth that spinach is good for your muscles. It does contain lots of vitamins and minerals though. I also read that spinach contains ecdysterone, though that chemical is essentially worthless for building muscle dispite all the ecdysterone supplements there are out there.

That cannot be true... either the cals or the pro/carb are off, do the math


5g carbs * 4 calories = 20 calories
9g prot * 4 calories = 36 calories
total cals = 56????

Unless of course that calculation is subtracting the grams of carb from fiber....

Hmm, think I should get my money back on that counter. You are correct, even if they subtract fiber you still get:

5g carbs * 4 = 20
3g fiber * 4 = 12
9g pro * 4 = 36
total = 44

Well anyhow my point was the amount of protein in it. :)
