View Full Version : Fat Before and/or After WO?

Planning on having a preworkout shake and a postworkout shake.

Should I have fat (most likely Flax Seed Oil) in the pre shake, in the post shake, or in both or neither?

I seem to remember reading that Fat was good before a workout (to keep test high) but bad after a workout (blocks absorbtion of dextrose/protein combo). Does this sound right?

depending on your goals, you probably don't want it PWO, when you're taking in so many simple carbs to spike your insulin.

Then again, you may not mind putting on some fat if you're bulking.

fat doesn't = body fat

you want carbs + protein meal 1 hour before workout

carbs + protein shake after (whey + dextrose OR oats)

an hour after that carbs + protein meal

then i'd say switch to fat/protein meals (peanut butter, flax, legumes, nuts, etc... + protein)

no fat around workout, slows digestion doesn't provide ample energy

Stick to P+C in and around your workout
