Due to my schedule, I don't get to lift until approximately 9:30 or 10:00. Should I eat a fast digesting protein when I return home, even though I usually hit the sack about an hour after I get home, or should I have a slow digesting supplement. If it matters, my eating habits before going to the gym vary, from eating about 2 hours before I go to about 15 minutes before. The meals, regardless of when I eat them, consist of some source of animal protein and vegetables, very few carbs.

liver produces glycogen and stores it.
