How many calories does a person burn a day? I know that to lose body fat you have to burn more calories than u take in...but I cant be on the elliptical for 2000 calories worth of a workout just to have a post workout meal! I'm usually on the elliptical for 25-30 min. after a pretty intese workout. I burn about 300 or so calories. I was just wondering if your body just randomly burns calories throughout the day and if so how much cardio should i do a day? is 300 calories a day good enough for a cardio workout?

depends on a lot of variables.. I don't really wanna sit here and type them all.. do a search or check the archives..

the average person, if he/she were to sit all day and do absolutly nothing is from 1,500-2000. the activities you during the day will only increase that. this is a very broad answer though and you should really check out the articles on this site. plenty of answers.
