I'm looking for a "HEALTHY" sandwhich meat to snack on w/o bread. The pack I picked up was 98 or 99% fat free ham. One slice has 440mg of sodium. Each day I took 5 pieces to work as part of a meal. I believe the protein for the 5 slices came out to 30g and the fat was not that much.

I like ham, turkey, chicken, salami, and bologna.

I'm guessing turkey or chicken will be the best meat.

Thanks for any help!!

whatever kind you get, make sure it's either "all natural" or "low sodium/low sugar"

Geez man, each slice has 440 mg of sodium and you take 5 to work to eat? Thats 2200 mg of sodium there, which is already a pretty high amount of sodium to consume in a day. I'd look for another meat.

Ok. I'll check out the meat section when I swing by Wal-Mart Super Center tonight. Yeah, 440mg is high which is why I need to find another product. I'll let you know what I find in case anyone else is interested.

What's everyones take on the packaged deli meats anyways? I am thinking that they might be in store for me taking a lunch to school for my bulk. Just want to know everyone's opinion.

Thanks,
Ryan

packaged sandwich meats are usually loaded with sodium and sugar.

i'm a university student and in canada we have something called:

Cloverleaf Tuna Packets

They are no drain and come with about 20 grams of protein for the light tuna and 21 grams of protein for the albacore. Eat two packets with an apple and you've found a far better replacement, with less sodium.

To be honest, without this glorious invention i would still be eating subway on a daily basis.

Deli meats are absolute ****.

boars head turkey?

I love buffalo chicken breast, but I bet they are loaded with sodium to preserve it.

I see these big ass turkeys in my back yard all the time, yesterday I wanted to see how quick they were, I wish i could catch one :P

free meat!, theres also deer there all the time.
