I've always seemed to have a slight niggling wrist pain since i started lifting, but nothing major.
I was working out my back/biceps yesterday, seemed a good workout.
However today i have a really bad wrist pain, it hurts to brush my teeth/to turn the wrist, it feels like my niggling injury of old, but just much more prominent.

Any ideas as what the injury could be? and any suggestions on what i should do? I am gonna my wrist a couple of days rest at the moment and see how it is on monday.

If the wrist pain is at the base of the thumb, it could be something called DeQuervain's or De Quervain's, which is something I've been dealing with. It bothers me when I brush my teeth and hammer curls are probably the worst thing for it. Here's some info:

Good luck.

How long have you been doing the types of workouts that you performed yesterday?

i've been doing the exercises for close to a year, i tried upping the weights some more yesterday.

The DeQuervain thing sound a lot like it, turning my wrist is a pain in the ass at the moment. I am just resting my wrist and hope for the best, thanks for both responses.

i have also had this. a slight pain in the wrists when i tried to bend them. the last time i had this was when i was benching last week and after i was done lifting they started to hurt. could i be gripping the bar a strange way? idk

After picking up some weights with my hand at an angle, I screwed up my right wrist and until recently the lifting of heavy weight exclusively by that wrist often lead to terrible pain if I moved the wrist at all, somewhat like a stabbing sensation, like a knot. Also, a clicking could be heard at times. It hasn't been a problem for a while, but I'm concerned because I cannot talk to my doctor about it because I don't want to be disqualified to join the Marines. If anyone has any idea what it could be, I'm all ears. As for everyone else, good luck dudes, it sucks to be injured.

My friend who is a Pro bodybuilder told me that his physical therapists make him wrap the hurting joint in a towel soaked in vinegar. I don't know why honestly. I have the same problem you do. It's basically ware and tear on your cartilage and joints. It will go away and then come back. It will happen to many other places. Elbows, knees, etc. I've been doing this for 3 years
