i been reading about the best times to do cardio and most people say before breakfast in the morning or after training. but i have also read you wake up in a catabolic state and if you dont eat breakfast right away you burn up muscle tissue, and if you do cardio right after working out you burn up muscle also. anyone know what the best thing to do is? thanks.

If you are trying to "cut up" the best time to do cardio IS in the morning on an empty stomach. If you are concerned with muscle loss, as most of us are, take L-glutamine before you do that cardio. If you only have time to do cardio after training, then do take that L-glutamine again.
L-glutamine will assist in sparing your muscle and can actually be taken at any time - in fact many BB's when cutting for a show will carry this stuff with them all day and take it multiple times throughout the day. It is not considered a food and therefore does not interfere with the "empty stomach" idea.
5mg (about a teaspoonful) is usually sufficient at one time.
Hope this helps!
