View Full Version : Hi Folks new here decided to put the spoon down!!

Hi there folks Im new to community, a month ago joined a gym go there about 4-5 days a week I do weight lifting followed by cardio runnong for about30-40 mins.
I need some advice on loosig weight Im 5'7" 185lbs Im on atkins diet I love meat I sually buy a cofee in the morning, and starve till 2 or so when i eat a steak or some slad with chicken breasts, mostly beef, and buffalo meat because it has less fat and more protein. Im also weight lifting to increase my muscle size.
Last time I checked (2 days ago) my body fat is 27% which i think is discusting. Any advice on how to diet right?

I dont think I would go with the atkins diet, that much meat cant be good for you. Try a 40x40x10 or a 30x30x20.

The key to looseing weight is you have to burn more cals every day then you consume.

If you are doing weight traning, want to maintain muscle mass and want to do a low carb diet, go visit the KETO forum and READ. Atkins is not a good diet for preserving mass.

I've done both diets. CKD and a p/c/f ratio diet, the both work and both have the pro's and con's. Before we can help you, you need to deicde how you want to go about loosing the weight. Go read the Keto forum, and do a search for ratio diet and read up about both. Regardless of which diet it's cals in vs cals out. Loosing weight is almost all about your diet. If you feel like you have a lot to loose 30+lbs. Then I reccomend a CKD. It would be a great start and help you shed some lbs fast. If you have a little to loose I'd go ahead and start with a more lifestyle friendly diet like a 40/40/20 to adjust to your new style of eating for life. Because remember the word diet means: the NORMAL food or drink of an anmial or person.

Thank You! I think I will be doing 40/40/10 protein/fat/carbs
being 185 pound si thing 50 gras of cars a day is enuff

Aren't you glad you weren't asking for help in math?

Atkins is not a terrible diet by any means, but if you're going to be active you may want to head over to the nutrition section and look at the info on keto. It works whenever I'm looking to lean up.

Starving yourself until 2 pm every day will not help you gain muscle mass. Read up, the info is all here. :)

starving won't help preserve muscle mass either.

Yep talked to some members did some reading, eating about 5 times a day with 40P 40F 20 C and feeling really great!
I dont stumble anymore and dont have mind fog. I do cardio at gym 5 days a week minimum 40 minutes of jogging.
