Is Farina a good source of low GI carbs? Or is it too processed? I've been eating Nabisco Hot Cream of Wheat.
Ingredients: Wheat Farina, Salt, Wheat Germ, Guar Gum, Natural Flavor, BHT (To preserve freshness), Mono- and Diglycerides (Emulsifier)

sodium 170mg
potassium 25mg
total carb 21g
protein 3g

I love it so much better than cooking up oats, but I guess since it is easier and I like it better it's going to be not as good :P Opinions?

IIRC, Cream of Wheat is not even close to as good as oats; it has a much higher GI and clearly is more processed (preservatives and the like). This might be another case of 'it's not terrible, but not great', but I think most on here agree that Cream of Wheat doesn't compare to oats or brown rice or sweet potato or any of the other popular carb choices.
