I probably have more than 5 years of data in the Myfitnesspal app on my phone, does that make it slower?

My common sense would expect it does. Maybe someone has tried it.

I'm considering starting with a new account if that makes it faster. I like when it feels super snappy.

Edit: I'll try making a new account see what happens.

It absolutely can, yes, because it all syncs up with their servers when you refresh the views.

Back when I used it, I found that eventually it actually froze at times and looking up/adding items was HORRIBLY tedious...

However even some phone OS updates can make it even worse, for sure.

I just tested it on an old Ipad Mini. Big difference. I'll start using my new account on my phone too.

It is interesting how MFP hasn't changed their app to fix this given I do think it's a common issue.

They'd be better off NOT storing all data for on-hand use or allowing for a setting to delete 'old' logs... I doubt many people need to reference things from 1+ years ago.

Just checked mine, have about three years of daily data and some spotty data before that. Idk where the older stuff went because I started counting before that.

Actually cool to set the weight graph to “all” to see the overview. Usually just have the graph set to 6 months.
