From 1789 until the Second World War, excepting only our relationship with Panama, the United States refused to enter into treaties of alliance with anyone. More likely to be one of the GOAT quotes, from Trump regarding Cuckdeau

PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

What is the economic theory behind the belief that more expensive goods/services will have a beneficial impact on a service economy? Especially a service economy that is stretched so thin it can hardly crank out enough qualified workers for available jobs? Maybe you were born in the wrong time. George Washington would have **** himself if you told him you could fly from NY to London in 8 hours. Do you remember when the entire US Senate passed a law to punish Russia for messing with the Election......

Friday 28 July 2017 00:51

US senators vote overwhelmingly for new sanctions on Russia

The US Senate has voted almost unanimously to slap new sanctions on Russia, putting President Donald Trump in a tough position by forcing him to take a hard line on Moscow or veto the legislation and infuriate his own party.

The vote on Thursday all but dashes Trump's hopes for warmer ties with Moscow as his administration is dogged by congressional and special counsel investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election to sway it in Mr Trump's favour.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly denied the conclusions of US intelligence agencies that Moscow interfered using cyber warfare methods, has threatened retaliation against the legislation.

The Senate backed the bill, which also imposes sanctions on Iran and North Korea, by a margin of 98-2 with strong support from Mr Trump's fellow Republicans as well as Democrats.

The bill, which includes a provision that allows Congress to stop any effort by Mr Trump to ease existing sanctions on Russia

Months later Trump still didn't do anything......

MARCH 1, 2018, 5:51 PM

Trump’s Attitude Toward Russia Sanctions Makes a Mockery of the United States

The question now is whether Congress will do anything about it.

The Trump administration shocked Washington when it refused to implement new, legally mandated sanctions against Russia in January. The White House claimed there was no need for new sanctions, because the law itself was already deterring those considering doing business with Russia. Yet, since then, not only did a U.S. grand jury indict 13 Russians for fraud and other charges, but the U.S. intelligence community unanimously told Congress that Russia hasn’t stopped interfering in American democracy. Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats even testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that the “United States is under attack.” Despite this, the Trump administration continues to stick to its claim that the situation requires no additional sanctions. This is worse than doing nothing.

That's more like it.
But there are huge American vested interests in the "war" in the ME, and isolationism would cost them a LOT of profits.
The US is never going to get its nose out of other countries' problems, until it can't make $$$$ from other countries' problems.
Sure, wars cost the American People a tonne of money, but that doesn't matter to the individuals who are making a tonne of money from wars.

Well considering you get your "news" from CNN I know I am wasting my time but Russia does not have an official voice in the G7. That is actually why is now called the G7 instead of the former G8 because Obama kicked Russia out. But I do not agree that Russia should be readmitted especially over a much larger economy like China.

I guess CNN is still obsessed with their two nonsense topics, porn stars and evil Russia. Trump has certainly not bowed to Putin or any other world leader on anything. Trump has regularly butted heads with Putin, dared him to follow through with his threat to shoot down our missiles in Syria if we responded to the latest gassing. Which we did very powerfully and he did nothing. How is Trump repairing the relationship with our ally in both world wars a bad thing?

Trump is establishing a mutual respect with the rest of the world that has been lacking for a long time.

I can't wait for CNN's negative response to the historic meeting we are hopefully about to witness between the President of the United States and the Supreme Leader of North Korea to establish a meaningful path towards peace. This will be a monumental accomplishment that no other world leader has been able to come close to achieving and mark the start of one of the most peaceful times in world history.

It is.

Why Trump gained the support he did is because he convinced people that he was the common man, an outsider that spoke for the common man.

nobody thought he was going to speak for the "common man." He was the candidate the US needed to make sure people with your logic/train of thought aren't passing legislation. Trumps platform is moderately right (IMO libertarian) and we took results over "how he gets things done," because at the end of the day its not about feelings- its about the future of the US. Trump is promoting this and the US decided that it would have to swallow a tough pill with his demeanor.

Again, I'm not a liberal - prob far more conservative than you, and I didn't vote for Hillary. These are just facts about Comey. Again, I give kudos to Trump for making people believe he can **** in gold toilets and relate to the common man when he's always been wealthy.

Serious question, am I not a "working man" simply because I use my brains instead of my hands? I mean, I could have gone right to work out of high school, learned a trade or whatever and started earning money. Instead, I went to school and deferred making money for several years while subjecting myself to another multiple years of school. Most would say my path was much more unpleasant in the short term, the idea being you sacrifice now for a better life later. And so because I choose this path and acquired skills that make me marketable, why is the "working man" so much more important and revered as you intimate? Makes zero sense.
