Hi, I read these forums all the time without having an account (I used to have one years ago)

And I always hear stuff like "Without protein, it's impossible to build muscle!"

But however it contradicts itself. I know many fat and obese people in my life that eat horribly, and I mean, they don't even eat much food, just drink a ton of beer, and they have the arms about the size as some powerlifters.

I don't even know how that is possible, lol

Sorry if this is a dumb question I just don't understand the science

Wow, so you follow a LOT of fat people around 24 hours a day seven days a week and watch every single thing they eat and drink and track their macros???? Man I wish I had your free time!

Fatceps and also if they are fat they eat plenty of protein.

If searching for "why is protein important for muscle building" is too complicated then you probably have bigger life issues.

Anyone who eats food eats protein. Read food labels, it's in most things.

Work out how much protein is in 3 big macs.
